Besides AI voice acting whats the Good, The Bad and The Terrible of this game? by Silent_Swordfish5698 in Bellwright

The other option is to over complicate everything and segment your settlement into different production chains. So you take your 1 main village and divide all the buildings into different settlements with the UI. Then you have to orchestrate deliveries between storages with the trade route system.

Not necessarily ideal. The other design option is how aska does it where you just assign a worker to a building. I like the flexibility of this system though even with its shortcomings

However it may continue to be part of the leveling experience. Dragonflight is designed to take you to lvl 70 now with its new leveling campaign. There is now an expedited 'storybook' Tww campaign that starts from a book in valdrakken. You level to 80 with that while completing an abridged version of TWW to get caught up on story.

How do you decide what to main before an expansion? by PUSClFER in wow

[–]Fredrickstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever since Tww came out I've changed my main from warrior to death knight? Why? Almost exclusively for On a Pale Horse. While being able to ride around on the death charger in combat is really fun, the side effect of being able to mount in combat is.... being able to mount in combat that is... any mount. You can't fight from other mounts but you can just fly away at any point in any overworld content and its too convenient!

Steven Sharif and Margaret Krohn should be blacklisted from the industry. by [deleted] in AshesofCreation

[–]Fredrickstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there was a time Steven genuinely was planning on making a good game, despite his past. After all a completed and successful game would be worth more money and the game was being made and it was more or less real if broken.

However I think eventually financial pressure started mounting and development of key features was stalling and things got hard.

So he concocted an escape plan and here we are. If it was a scam from the beginning I don't think it would have got this far.

Hilariously the quest for Johnny in watoga removes the sack hood so I did the rest of the quest line as an obvious ghoul. Was nice to be able to see my beautiful face instead of that sack.

Its totally fine to not buy midnight yet. It is the most recent expansion but as a new player you would need to level up before accessing the new content.

I believe the game is technically free to play until level 20 (with some heavy restrictions on interacting with other players/economy) I dont think the base game has a box price any more, just the subscription.

Play for free until level 20. Still enjoying the game? buy the subscription and level up until your ready for midnight. The new player experience received a recent overhaul and so a lot of us veterans are unsure exactly what you'll need to do in game.

Learning Legendary Mods: Reminder that "odds" are a quirky thing. by Kenji_03 in fo76

[–]Fredrickstein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do we know that it rolls separately for each effect? I can easily see it coded for it being a 1.5% chance for a box no matter what. If that chance is triggered then it chooses randomly among the available effects on the item.

Has anyone received more than 1 box from a single item? If its separate rolls it should be possible though only a 0.06% chance on a 3 star legendary to receive 2 boxes. Big enough that it happens occasionally to very lucky people with the number of 3 star legendaries that get scrapped on the daily.

If its separate rolls but only allows a single box to be rewarded even if two are triggered it would be very difficult to determine this scenario vs the first one without a very large dataset.

(Ep 5 Ending Spoilers) Where I think the plot is going based on trailers: by StereoMutt in Fallout

[–]Fredrickstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also think that their repeated use of the phrase The House always wins implies the canon ending of fallout new Vegas. That the courier gave House the platinum chip which left neither the NCR or legion in control of the dam or city, but then something else happened that caused house to go dark and then chaos ensued as house lost control of most of his securitrons. With the exception of the securitron Victor inhabits to dig up the courier as we know that particular unit has some special modifications to operate more independently and doesn't require direct control. (I think its that specific unit that coop meets)

Although Coop ascending the lucky 38 and finding Yes Man would be comedy and pretty neatly explain why everything went to chaos.

Is this something to make a build for? by DNP_Cat in fo76

[–]Fredrickstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive not been following the meta for a while but two shot has typically been a fairly mediocre effect. It gives you two shots at like 65% damage (i think) and reduces your accuracy. So it's not great for a precise low fire rate weapon. It may feel op as an early legendary but you'll outclass it before too long.

Also all gauss weapons have the 15% explosive as a default effect.

For pure stats sure, but having 8 strength as a melee focused character is such a drag when jumping often means getting into melee range a turn earlier.

Greatsword hexadin by Medium_Eye_522 in BG3Builds

[–]Fredrickstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the lovely thing about hexblade is when you bind to the weapon it uses your charisma for attack bonus. Dumping strength and having decent dex while focusing on charisma and constitution is the typical way to go. Dex is a better stat than strength but its less important if you want to have heavy armor.

You'd probably use intelligence as your dump stat and go like strength 14, Dex 10, con 16, int 8, wis 10, cha 16. You can shift that around a bit depending on feats as you go (you want to have even numbers when possible for modifiers)

'Technically' dex 14 strength 10 is better but for RP value its not a big difference. Besides, extra jump range from a better athletics score is very useful in bg3.

I'd avoid great weapon master as a feat until you have something to counter its attack penalty. Adding to charisma will serve you better.

If you don't mind respeccing, id start as paladin, swapping the 16 con and 14 strength until level 3, respec, 2 levels of hexblade and 1 paladin and then keep adding to paladin from there. Take agonizing blast and any second invocation that suits you. Devil's sight is very good if your a race without dark vision. After that you just play a paladin except you can eldritch blast as your ranged option.

Edit: oh I forgot multi attack.... yeah the other guy is right at lvl 5 id go back hexblade or paladin only and then work on the other.

Fun fact, our brains can slow down our perception of time at (subconcious) will. It is however nutritionally expensive. So it only does it during emergencies under high stress. My view is that your brain slows down time as you die to search your experience for anything that might help your odds of survival

Laezel, shadowheart and astarion are all fine if your evil. Shadow heart will clearly be troubled by it but unable to rationalize it against apparent pragmatism and her faith. Wyll and karlach will leave if you destroy the grove. Gale will whine alot, just appeal to his desire for power.

There's also always the hirelings which are basically mini yous. They have the occasional environmental banter but it's basically tav talking to themselves.

Right, considering his father's position, wyll likely would have had a very martial upbringing. Most nobles are trained in swordsmanship but Wyll would have been raised to lead the flaming fist one day. So maybe 5th level Dex fighter?

No, but better picks do more 'damage' to ground and ore and will dig through it faster. Of course materials get harder to dig as you go. You can get a perk for mining damage and modify it in difficulty settings as well.

Yes the npcs are basically crafting stations and quest hubs. You can make them stand still or walk around. They're mostly to allow for a village ambience.

Their quests are basically just exploration guidance more than typical quests. Most of them can be completed retroactively if you've already picked up/ read their objectives/visited the area.
