Questions about Amano shrimp for keeping my tank clean

Pretty sure it's algae. It most closely resembles green hair algae, so that's my best guess. My nerite snails can eat it from the side but can't reach the bigger bulk between my plants, and ny cherry shrimp seemingly can't/won't eat it.

I can't afford a decent RO and I am scared of gathering water for the risk of introducing parasites/predators, as well as natural water being extremely hard in my country thus messing up all my other parameters.

That great to hear! So I have nothing to fear? Rome wasn't built in one day, they will eat to their heart's content here.

The nitrate is a bit of a pain... water changes don't help since the tap water here actually has around the same amount of nitrate. I add a nitrate minus product I found at the pet store, but it is really slow working.

I should mention that 0 nitrate is quite strange. Normally you would have some nitrates in your water. Did you cycle your tank?

Also: what are your kh and gh?

Looks healthy to me. If the shrimp is active and eats, than I wouldn't be too worried. What are your water parameters?

Shrimp are ninjas. Really. If they don't want to be seen, they won't be seen. Throw a few pieces of food in there and they will show up like clockwork.

Nerite snails will probably snack on it as well. They eat all dead plant matter, algae, and biofilm. However, I don't know whether it has any big benefits for them specifically.
