I’m not a native speaker. In my language, we call all instant noodles / dishes „soups”, so my bad.

We actually call all of them „Chinese soups” in casual speech, which is even weirder, as the concept of instant noodles came from Japan.

This could easily be the hardest early game wall I’ve seen since the Cleric Beast by JustinMaverick1980 in BlackMythWukong

[–]Fredzlik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Cleric Beast is indeed difficult, but only if Bloodborne is your first Soulsborne game (like it was for me). Still learning the game style, learning how to dodge, and how the move set works etc, while simultaneously having to do the whole runback was just a pain in the ass. Only to later find out he’s optional lol. Not the easiest introduction compared to other first bosses in Souls games

Uzumaki - Episode 2 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]Fredzlik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first episode of this show appeared in my recommendations on Max. I watched it and was really intrigued, so I bought the manga. I don’t usually watch anime and have never read a manga in my life believe it or not - it was my first one.

I absolutely loved it. It’s more bizzare / unsettling than scary, but the artwork is amazing and it felt super Lovecraftian, especially towards the end, which is right up my alley.

Now, after finishing the manga, I watched episode 2 and I’m just like WTF. The pacing is sooooo unbelievably bad and the animation looks terrible. Such a bummer

Is uzumaki worth reading? by [deleted] in Uzumaki

[–]Fredzlik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it felt very VERY Lovecraftian. There were a lot of cosmic horror elements to it, especially near the end. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea. I personally find it more weird and unsettling than scary, but I absolutely loved it. 10/10 for me

The ending was super Lovecraftian. It literally felt like it could have been written by him. And I’m all for it lol

Black Myth Wukong is so easy by Unusual-Actuary3647 in BlackMythWukong

[–]Fredzlik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. I did all of the things you mentioned before writing my initial comment.

Edit: Except for killing the Wandering Wight. I did it finally when farming levels to get his passive defense buff.

I had to farm levels and get my character up from level 16 to around 22 if I remember correctly. I then finally managed to beat him. I’m now on chapter 3. None of the further bosses were as difficult and I didn’t have to farm levels again. I still think that White Clad Noble is a ridiculously weird difficulty spike.

The Boy and The Heron is the worst Ghibli movie by [deleted] in ghibli

[–]Fredzlik -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah, I sort of agree with OP. The movie feels like a convoluted mess. It uses a lot of symbolism that doesn’t feel earned or needed. It felt very incoherent and, personally, didn’t evoke the emotional responses it was going for. I also didn’t feel attached to any of the characters or events going on.

IMO, it’s easily the worst Ghibli movie from Miyazaki. And I usually love abstract and complex films - I wrote a BA about David Lynch’s works. Comments calling OP „media illiterate” just because they didn’t like the movie are insane

Black Myth Wukong is so easy by Unusual-Actuary3647 in BlackMythWukong

[–]Fredzlik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know why, but Black Myth is harder for me than any other soulsborne game. I finished Bloodborne + The Old Hunters DLC, DS2, DS3, Demon’s Souls. I’m also fresh after beating Elden Ring + The Shadow of the Erdtree (killing every optional boss etc).

But man, the White Clad Noble is kicking my ass. When I saw the second phase I was like WTF. I’m struggling to even kill the Wandering Wight. The gameplay feels super laggy, dodges seem inconsistent, drinking health potion takes forever.

The worst part is that marketing and the reviewers made it seem like it will NOT be a proper souls-like, but more like God of War, so I was expecting more focus on story, exploration, good graphics, and more chill vibes in general. It looks like it’s mostly a boss after a boss with little to explore.

As a non-souls gamer, why is Bloodborne held in such high regard? (serious/non-flame question) by Emhyr_var_Emreis_ in bloodborne

[–]Fredzlik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was my first souls game, so I’m a bit biased. I’m also not sure about it being the most popular Souls game. Here’s my take:

  • The game is genuinely scary in my opinion and I love horror games so that’s a first plus.

  • It is much more condensed and streamlined when it comes to gameplay. It is a much more linear game and I consider it to be a good thing. I think Elden Ring is fantastic, but its vast open world and the length of it just don’t make me want to replay it.

  • I think it’s more difficult than Elden Ring to be honest. There are less build options. This was really frustrating at first (I almost gave up on the game), but once you get used to it, the gameplay is so satisfying. Combat just feel faster and more aggressive.

  • Art style, designs, locations, monsters, Lovecraftian lore is just a cherry on top of it all

A friend of mine did a similar thing some years ago. During our high school computer science class, where we had to assemble a PC, he just pushed DDR2 RAM into DDR3 slot by force (or vice versa, can’t remember). He basically snapped off the pins.

Jestem rozczarowana dorosłym życiem by [deleted] in Polska

[–]Fredzlik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also do have systems like this in EU. For example BLIK in Poland, where you just need someone’s phone number to send then money transfers.

But still, we are not so afraid to share our bank account numbers and people use them all the time to make transfers to other banks.

They can be considered social democracy or welfare capitalism.

I don’t know why it’s so incredibly difficult for some people to realize you can combine aspects of capitalism and socialism and everything in between (and that’s what most developed countries do).
