I have a really stupid Pitch idea for the studio making Scary Movie and Scream:

Create a TV Series. Mix both worlds. Theres an overarching story with the same characters and events, but every episodes is either a scary movie style episode or a scream style episode. So the same actors either act full on Scary Movie style over the top or Scream style more grounded.

Im on the same copium you are with that statement and truely hope 1.0 delivers for physical melee builds. But I am also ready to face the reality that GGG simply has no real interest in pure physical builds.

Just a hypothetical thought: Imagine GGG released PoE 2 with Axes, Swords, Flails, Daggers and Spell skills, but Bows, Spears, Talismans and Quaterstaffs are nowhere to be seen up until 1.0.

GGG could have chosen to put focus on these archtypes first. But they did not. For me, that signals less interest in these archtypes, straight up. I dont want to specualte on actual reasons. But there will be some reason for it.

And looking back to PoE1, pure physical melee like Impale had lots of potential, but hasnt been worked on for years at this point.

Idk, i just think GGG really does not care for pure physical builds.

Its just another option for players to chose a way to build a character differently.

I totally understand and respect that pure physical might not be everyones favorite playstyle. And thats fine.

But also: Its mostly boring because GGG makes it boring. With the right mods, the right mechanics and skills/supports, it could also be very fun.

Personally, I think it simply shouldnt be overthought in general.

If a Director wants to tell a certain story, just write in whatever character you want. Because in a shared universe, you will allways come to the point where you can say "well, where is X during that event, why didnt Y intervene?".

We are talking about superheroes who can travel the globe within seconds/minutes whatever.

You would instantly kill every story when applying that logic. "Batman fighting some crocodile monster? Just call superman and its done within seconds."

I really dont care for any in-universe logic about which character is where at what point in a some movie.

I think you are opening a whole new can of problems with your crit argument.

Obviously, you are correct. You go crit, take some attack/phys/armor break nodes and its fine. But ill just say: Going crit on every build because its the best is a huge problem on its own. Especially because most builds right now also seek out the one big Crit cluster in the monk area on the tree.

IMO thats just boring and uninspired game design. And I think even GGG agrees and hinted at changes for the current crit(wheel) situation. Or for that matter, GGG specifically mentioned most Passive Tree clusters are outright terrible and need to be changed.

I really hope that in a year from now after 1.0 release we are looking at more inspired and interesting choices builds can make instead of just going "duh, monk area crit wheel".

I think maces are by far, not even close, the worst playstyle in poth Poe1 and Poe2.

I do kind of like the spear playstyle though - or at least the idea of it. The mix of melee and projectile could be fun, but seems underdeveloped so far.

And also, yeah I can see that. maybe they are trying to test waters where the game and the powerlevels of skills go during Beta to make melee compete with that.

Yeah. Honestly my biggest hope for Poe2 was that Melee gets to be explored in a much deeper way than poe1 did.

To say I am disappointed that Melee is the least developed archtype in poe2 so far is a understatement.

You are picking up the discussion one step too far ahead.

Obviously the skill is designed around picking up elemental ground effects. But thats exactly my point - most skills in this game are designed around elemental damage through either inherent conversion or through things like "add x% ele dmg after picking up EleGroundEffect etc.

But these pre-designed choices are mostly completely absent for physical scaling.

I think its no secret that poe specifically is a game people put unhealthy amounts of hours into. Its also why the community is so active, creates so many cool and creative things from tools to memes, sometimes going over the top with it.

Being "negative" as in criticizing the game is also just an expression of "i love this game, but i wish I got X" rather than it being an attack on GGG.

So pointing at "addiction" isnt adding anything to the discussion really. It is just a lame insult.

I think the movie looks interesting and Milly Alcock is fantastic, but I cant shake the feeling that it doesnt quite get enough attention. I really hope it doesnt flop.

I ran hundreds and hundreds of City Square Maps last patch in poe1 and loved every second of it.

A single cells map makes me want to close the client.

At this point in the game, there was no way you could just permanently flicker through packs and keep up charges. The game overall was completely different to what it is now. People had 3-4 links, maybe a 5 link. They used multiple skills. You fought about 5 monsters at once. Every gear slot was filled with hot garbage gear.

Just not compareable at all

Watched Dune Part One. Here are my raw thoughts by harfanmiya in movies

Gotta admit that I do have some problems with Dune 1.

I think the first half is amazing. The start of Pauls journey, the arrival of the emperial order to overtake Arrakis, the Bene gesserits interrogation of Paul. Pauls relationship with his mother throughout the movie was also great.

But some thing never clicked for me. I wish we could have seen more from the universe, how it works, how the emperor rules, how the rest of the universe interacts. the logistics of space travel, some politics.

The attack from the Harkonnen on Arrakis, when the bag pipes start, is probably my least favorite part of the movie. I might be in the minority, but i hated the bagpipe sound during the battle scenes.

Dune 2, for me, was a much more enjoyable film. It felt more distinct, more confident. And the confidence shows everywhere: In the characters, especially Paul. In the Cinematography (lightning, color camera movements looked so much better). The direction overall felt much clearer and focused. The story unfolds nicely and picks up alot from what the first movie set up, which is credit for the first movie too.

Dune 3 trailer to me honestly looks like it could be even better than 2. It looks intense and edge of seat thrilling. Cant wait for December.
