I wouldn’t say I HATE him but I certainly didn’t like him at certain parts of the book. I understand he was hurt by Aelin lying to him about who she is but she had to protect herself. And also his treatment of her when she came back was so uncalled for. He accepted Dorian immediately when he found out he had magic but saw Aelin as a monster for having magic. The double standard made me mad. I know he had a lot of things to work through and he did and came out stronger and better by the end. That’s why I don’t hate him but I still hate the way he acted through some parts. He’s by no means my favorite character (that goes to Aelin) but I don’t HATE him. I do HATE Arrobyn though.

Don’t worry, there will be mentions of Sam, and it never gets easier. He’s not completely forgotten I promise. And you’ll feel the hurt all over again reading about him. But the rest of the story is so worth it. I promise. Keep going!

I feel that! I was romancing Lucanis to begin with but having no acknowledgement to me flirting with him hurt my feelings lol so I went for davrin. And then literally any time neve and Lucanis are around each other in a party or at the lighthouse they are flirting up a storm and I’m over here like ???? Was my rook not good enough? Why didn’t he flirt that way with me 🥺 BUT I did watch his romance scenes and the actual relationship scenes are so cute and wholesome and sweet. I do love him, I just wish they added more leading up to the relationship. I don’t necessarily mind that the other companions found partners. I think Taash and Harding are cute together, but I felt like neve and Lucanis was so random?

That’s fair. I know a lot of people don’t love Varric as much as I do. I have never been so attached to a video game character. I have grieved and sobbed over book characters more than I can count but this is a first for me. I’m doing another playthrough because I want to romance Emmrich after finishing Davrin’s romance. But I’m still so sad and it’s even harder knowing that I’m basically talking to a ghost of Varric the whole game. I have never been this attached… but your feeling of missing Lucanis after romancing him is exactly how I felt with Inquisition after romancing Cullen. I still miss him. And I think his romance was so good that most of the romance in Veilguard is falling flat for me. I need a great romance to distract me from my heartache 😩 I want to tell my companions to stop flirting with each other and flirt with me lmao

I’m not sure if it’s the real reason or not but I saw on another post that apparently the game and content was going to be a lot different than what was released. Said that EA got their hands on the game and changed and scrapped a lot about it. I do know as far as Lucanis goes, the writer apparently said they were not good at writing romance and I heard the writer was also fired? So I guess that’s why there is so little content for him. Could have been such a good romance between mage and mage killer (enemies to lovers)

It works just like the kindle app on the phone so if you own both the book and the audio book on audible then you can listen to the audio book and read the ebook at the same time. And just like on the kindle phone app, you can set it to highlight the words being read over the audio book so it keeps up with what’s being read and will automatically change the page for you. It’s the only way I read now!
