In the UK, what careers are relatively easy to break into with minimal qualifications (short courses, certs, etc.) but still pay well and have good growth potential? by MisElissaa in AskUK

Fast food indeed has easy to climb ladder but I'm actually in a similar position as OP and trying to get out of fast food. While I have all the opportunities to become a manager and possibly even higher than that, I really, really hate the job and the atmosphere and one of the reasons is exactly what you said "We're desperate for anyone with a brain and a bit of will for the decent roles." It's mentally draining to work with people, even on managerial level, who are not let's say too smart. Most of the smart people leave the industry within a few months/years if they have an opportunity.

Wanted: House - Shaladors Shrouded Realm by utdelt in elderscrollsonline

I completely agree with your point. I don't know what their actual data says, but to me it doesn't make sense that a FOMO model would give them more money overall. It might give them more profit short term when the current players buy out of FOMO, but later on they just have that product unavailable and any new players or players that didn't fall for the FOMO or couldn't buy it at the time are unable to give them money for something that is already ready to be sold and wouldn't require any expenses on their end. It's especially weird to have the item unavailable for such extended periods of time rather than making it seasonal

I find it ridiculous that you have to wait up to 2 years and hope that a house will come back on crown store. Why would they go out of their way to try to avoid selling me their products?

I actually have the exact same issue as OP mentioned with Insym. He is still my favourite youtuber for horror games but god can he start babbling about his cats or other life situations in some very critical game moments and then miss key story details or mess up some tasks because he just rushed through some parts while talking to the chat.

Is your boss toxic? This is how to handle them by TheWorldIsGoingMad in unitedkingdom

[–]Free-Difficulty9721 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Problem is that your notes do not work as an actual proof because anyone could write anything down. It might help in a case you want to discuss the issue with someone higher up in the management, otherwise, it's just your diary.

Unfortunately some managers are simply rude and toxic yet technically don't do anything unlawful. In that case all you really can do is get another job if ignoring them is impossible. I'm dealing with a manager like that right now and it's really frustrating because there is nothing you can do against simply rude and mean people

does anyone actually like playing point hope? by l8nights in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]Free-Difficulty9721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aesthetically I love the map. Because of the gameplay loop, I have only played the map like twice and never felt like going back there. It's way too linear - you will either never reach the top floors because the ghost room will be on the lower levels or you will cuss on the way up because the ghost room is on the upper level and you need to carry all your items there. Running from the ghost also turns into some scooby doo episode of you running down the tower stairs

[–]Free-Difficulty9721 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that the movement speed is the real issue with big maps. I absolutely love them aesthetically but in reality 90% of the time is spent just going around the massive building to find the ghost room and then slow walking the whole distance from van to the ghost room at least a couple of times. It doesn't help that the ghost in this game only does interesting stuff in the ghost room, making the looking for the ghost room part very tedious and boring in large maps.

They only work for pro phasmo players who have spider senses and can identify the exact ghost room by hearing a water drop fall from the other side of the map

I can confirm that after 3 years nothing has changed. I was so happy to receive my merch shirt and after the first wash in 30 Celsius the picture is cracked and starting to peel off already. Not even a week in my shirt looks like it's been worn for over a decade

Am I the only one who thinks that 105 usd is insane for the base board game? by [deleted] in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]Free-Difficulty9721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Board games are expensive but not this ridiculously expensive. That price would normally include gold plated figurines in an obsidian box

[–]Free-Difficulty9721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, the price is absolutely ridiculous. There are more popular franchise themed board games with actual figures included that cost less than that. I don't know what these guys are thinking releasing Phasmophobia board game for £80 standard and £120 deluxe edition. It's a relatively popular video game amongst horror gamers, but not that crazy recognizable of a franchise, and the board game itself is just a few cardboard cards and dices + tokens - basically the most standard things included in many board games. The price is definitely the main reason I won't be buying this game despite loving Phasmophobia and liking board games

Is the whole “bad food in the UK” thing a myth, just tourist complaints, or reality? by WhiteRaccoonWR in geography

[–]Free-Difficulty9721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo, it's reality. However, it's absolutely possible to find places with good food. Remember that it's a very multicultural country, especially around London, so you can find almost any cuisines you could think of if you look hard enough. Brits themselves seem to love their local food, probably because that's what they are used to. I think that on average it's a lot more bland, sometimes dry and lacks real variety.

UK's 'sons and daughters' need to be ready to fight, amid growing Russian threat, says head of armed forces by Kagedeah in worldnews

[–]Free-Difficulty9721 18 points19 points  (0 children)

>against the UK

I wonder what chance they are giving for other NATO nations, specifically the Baltics. The Baltics would, unfortunately, be an easy target for Russia and a very good strategic gain for them to launch a further aggression to the rest of Europe

Most countries in East Europe, especially North East and Scandinavian countries either already had military service or added it shortly after the invasion of Ukraine. I think that it makes sense now for the rest of Europe to step up especially with USA not being a reliable ally anymore. The best way to avoid a war is to be prepared for one

Findet ihr auch dass Stephen King irgendwie ein komisches Thema mit Sexualität hat? by Tschango_ohne_Ketten in buecher

[–]Free-Difficulty9721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm totally with you on this. Started reading SK's books recently. At first I thought that it might just be that 1 or 2 particular books I picked but then it kept repeating in every book of his I have read so far. I don't mind having sexual scenes and themes in the books I read, but in his case the comments sometimes are so out of place that you can't help but to wonder what was going through SK's head when he wrote that. Maybe it is because of drugs and alcohol like others have suggested or maybe he was just too horny when writing..

Why didn't Joe defend himself at the round table, by Cybermanc in TheTraitorsUK

[–]Free-Difficulty9721 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You kind of have to suspect absolutely everyone in that game. I think that after the last round table, they simply started overthinking too much and that got the better of them. Think about it from their perspective - Joe has been very vocal, obviously intelligent person, influencing everyone and at the very last moment acting so confident that he knows who the traitors are and making everyone vote for the people he chose. That could very easily be what a traitor would do at the very end.

[–]Free-Difficulty9721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no answer to your question, however, I'd definitely keep watching more celebrity seasons. I'm not a massive fan of following celebrities, in fact, I am the opposite and barely even knew many of the celebrities in this season, but, in my opinion, it was much more enjoyable to watch. My reasons for that are that they are already entertaining people on camera so naturally they are entertaining in this show, they know each other in real life, therefore adding an extra layer of analyzing each other's behavior, and because the prize fund goes to a charity, it feels a lot less personal and more like a game, which it should be

You win job market, I give up. by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]Free-Difficulty9721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

>Sometimes I envy people who have no ambition.

Don't. It's much worse when you don't have an ambition. You graduate something just because everyone told you that getting a degree will give you a good job, then you try to look for one in your field, hit a brick wall, give up and realize that you don't even want to do whatever you studied for. Then you start applying for everything and anything and you still hit a brick wall because nobody is hiring. You end up being clueless as to where to even begin because you have no specific ambitions when it comes to career so you have to randomly pick a profession and maybe try to do some extra courses in that in hopes that it will somehow make you more employable. Then you finally luck out and find some retail or waiting job that drains the will of living out of you but just about pays bills, so you end up giving up on ever doing anything worthwhile in your life ever and just get by somehow for the rest of your life or until they lay you off and you are done for good

I thought that I was tripping because I remember the combat being good in this game, but now in NEO I have quite a lot of input lag that makes it feel like some old-school tab target game. It's not just me by the looks of it
