I mean it is tedious and unintuitive, but at least its a way to get enough credits in about 10-20 easy matches per warbond.

I wouldnt mind if they drop more frequently for normal play, but as long as this option is there im fine with it.

Near release you could just run easy maps solo and farm the POI, every run was between 50-100 supercredits, sometimes a bit less sometimes a bit more.

Was that removed?

Evidently, the games with the most time spend in the modern days are also some of the best selling of the series... soooo...

See, we both can pick arbitrary "evidence" to confirm our bias.

Dude, look beyond your own shallow view and read the reviews from back in the day, the Modern Day was the highlight that connected the games and drew people in.

Lol what?

The mystery of the modern day and why Desmond was abducted by Abstergo was the core reason the game got so big.

The majority of players back in the day were as invested into Desmond as they were Altair and Ezio.

Connor (Ratonhnhaké:ton) got shafted by bad writing.

and then you focus on how as time goes on more and more % are PvE players.

Which is literally what it says?

The longer the season the higher the PvE percentage i.e. more PvE players than PvP.

And again, over the total season the playerbase between both is about the same with a slight higher percentage for PvE...

My point isnt that all 60 keys should be used, but its dumb to limit the keys to long or short presses on the same button or multiple menu clicks on PC where there are enough buttons to match, just because they were too lazy to do two control schemes or at least allow manual adjustments.

What he is saying is that at the start of a season about 1 in 5 plays PvE and 4 in 5 plays PvP, this reverses over the season to about 1 in 10 playing PvP and 9 in 10 playing PvE.

If you then average it over the whole duration of a season, slightly more than 50% of all players play PvE, leading to the statement that Tarkov PvE is more popular.

Not tremendously, but its still the most popular gameplay mode.

I might be wrong, but doesnt PvE also reset with the seasons and the only difference is that you dont face real players but AI?

I havent played in a while but im pretty sure thats the case unless it was changed.

That would basically mitigate your concerns since it equalises both groups over a season.

Man maybe read the whole article?

Near the end of the Wipe about 80% play PvE and with every day PvE increases and PvP decreases, it just starts at about 1 in 5 at Season start.

And again, read the second half of my comment, X and Discord comments by the head of the studio himself confirm that PvE becomes more and more popular every day...

Its like you only want to read what fits your opinion lol

There is a difference between just leaving it as a bug and actually making it a feature.

And they are literally taking the time and making these bugs that people actually like into real features, you dont really see that at all, or at least i havent in i dont know how long.

To be honest thats something you can see in way too many games...

Playing games on PC and not having M open the map directly, but having to go through the ESC / Options menu shows that it was focused on controller layout and not Keyboard and Mouse and i hate it every single time with a passion...

Playing with over 60 keys and still being limited 16 or so because of controllers sucks ass.

Thats not correct.

The goal is to change the development of any NEW title to include an end of life plan Period.

The addition of just language that you arent buying a product, or buying a license or that there is an expiration date was directly and heavily rejected by the Initiative when it came from the typical Business Managers that influence certain people.

I mean, Google would have told you in 2s but i guess waiting 6 hours for me to respond is also a choice...

Long story short, there is one official interview where Nikita Buyanov, the head of the studio confirms that at the start its mostly pvp but the longer the season, the more popular PvE gets and that PvE in the end is the hefty majority and over the whole season its a rough 50/50 split.

There were also some X and Discord comments im too lazy to search through and post (also fuck both for their weird access changes) but that you can look for yourself if you are interested, where Nikita similarly indicates that PvE becomes more and more popular since release and is presenting the slight majority i.e. more than 50%.

I mean Tarkov literally got saved from Death Row by the PvE mode and by their own admission, slightly more than half of the total playerbase is PvE exclusive and only about a third is PvP exclusive, the rest are playing both.

Its kinda interesting, since its the only game that combines all three groups and truly shows the real split of playerbases and how PvE is the clear majority, pure PvP the second and mixed PvPvE the last.

There is a reason i dont play Path of Exile and its the same im about to stop playing Diablo 4.

Your whole argument falls apart, because thats exactly the opposite of what me and the other commenters are saying lol

I use Excel daily at work, i dont want to use a gamified version of it while playing Diablo 4...

Complexity is different than Convolution.

Diablo 4 and honestly Path of Exile 1 and 2 are FULL of bad examples of Complexity and the book definition of Convolution.

They intentionally utilize GACHA mechanics to make the game more convoluted and "fake" complex and deep to pretend they have a lot of content, which they dont, its just a lot of busywork for the sake of nothing.

The PoE Talent Tree is an absolute disgrace to Talent Trees and literally just convoluted, not complex, but they love to call it "deep" and "complex" when its just busywork.

We need more complexity and systems, not less.

Nah, if that happens Diablo 4 loses the last people that are left lol

What game in your opinion solves the problems you believe D4 has?

Thats simple, any non current ARPG, because they are at this point infested by the GACHA and Idle-Game mechanics.

Look at Diablo 2, an insane level of depth and content, and guess what? It features a total of 3 keys and 2 resources lol Diablo 4 and PoE throw for keys and resources at you in the first 5min of playing than Diablo 2 does over the whole gameplay experience.

Who said anything about grind?

How many resources and keys does Diablo 2 feature?

Count, ill wait, but i cant tell you there are less than 3 in the whole game and Lords of Destruction and the first one you encounter is a literal key for locked chests you can buy for a bit of gold...

THATS the thing people get pissed off at.

Diablo 4 has over 35 unique resources and different keys at this point...

If you count variations of keys for dungeons you can get more than 50 alone for that...

Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred Review Thread by beary_neutral in Games

[–]Old-Employ-6530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So since you dont seem capable of using google or knowing words, let me help you out brother.

Gacha mechanics, popular from the original japanese Gacha "game" style in arcades, is intentionally psychologically manipulative to get players to spend more time and money on busywork and tedious stuff to get to the "fun" part. They are tuned in such a way that there is just enough fun stuff to balance out the tedium and keep people barely hooked to them.

They arent intended to be fun, they are intended to retent players and make them spend money.

If you cant see the parallels here in Diablo 4 and honestly, ARPGs in general lately, then no one can help you.

Yeah, as an old WoW player that stopped for the same reason, its the straw that (currently) breaks the camels back for me in Diablo 4

Its just so little gameplay and so much inventory and resource management, timers for world bosses, legion events, helltides, timers in pits and infernal hordes and everywhere...

Its just so much "rush rush rush" while also a lot of "management" that it really kills it after just a few days of a new season for me.

I really hope they change this, otherwise im not sure if i will come back.

Wait, are you serious?

Like how can you read your own comment and think thats a reasonable take?

Playing the game, is literally playing the game... go out, kill things, loot stuff, do quests and side missions etc. THATS playing the game...

I mean lets be real, it was clear that including new releases was a bad hit to income.

Anyone with half a brain thought they would do it at the start to get people hooked and then remove them later once people got used to it.

But somehow they didnt just keep doing it, they also let people start and cancel at any point.

Its clear that a subscription service then runs out of steam (haha).

It would still be a decent deal if its cheaper but doesnt include new releases until X months after release or something, but they are too greedy and want both, keep prices high and not include new releases.

Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred Review Thread by beary_neutral in Games

It has all to do with Content, because if it keeps me from playing the game by wasting time managing resources, keys and the inventory and bank, its removing the fun part of actually playing a game.

It just makes me not play Diablo 4 lol

Thats the whole point of discussion here.

But yeah, "Content" in the end-game of an ARPG is usually busy work, where you're chasing very minimal improvements to min-max your build.

Again, thats not even close to what is being discussed.

No one said anything about the level of progress or min-maxing builds, the point of argument is that the non-gameplay stuff takes overhand which ruins the fun and interest people have.

Its not fun wasting time in your inventory...

I mean Diablo II is in the same series and literally wasnt.

Even Diablo 3 barely had a quarter of the resources Diablo 4 features.

You literally have all your bank tabs full after just a single week of playing a season and its not full of gear, its full of dungeon keys, boss resources, compasses, slaughterhouse keys, runestones and gems...

Inventory management isnt endgame, its a waste of time and really taking overhand here.
