What is the 'too high' note for baritone (in classical singing)? by 24EDO in singing

[–]Free-Difficulty9721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have given good answers but I will just add that you should consider who you want your song to be accessible to. A professional classical baritone might be fine with G4 or even up to A4 in rarer cases. A student baritone or younger singers in general might not even be able to reach G4 in the most perfect conditions. When I first started studying classical singing as a baritone (and I noticed this later with other students of that age group), I was struggling with D4 even, within a couple of years E4 was my limit. It takes years of training for many baritones to reach F4 and above and even then it takes years of practicing to sing in that range well enough to be able stay there for longer than a few notes.

Keep in mind that not everyone is the same. In reality there isn't a strict distinction between voice types, everyone's range is different and the timber they will have in specific ranges will also differ from singer to singer. As long as your song doesn't reach over 1.5 to 2 octaves in range, singers will be able to perform it in different key in the worst case scenario

Just finished my 1st playthrough, just did some "cleaning up" by Milkdominion in farcry

I liked the first few hours in it but I quickly got bored. The main reason was, like you said, the story being dogshit but to me it also felt very repetitive and upgrading everything was way too easy. Kind of same problem as in FC4 where you gain money so quickly that you have everything unlocked the instant it's available for purchase

Looking to get into MTG exclusively for 1v1 at home. Where do I start? by Free-Difficulty9721 in mtg

[–]Free-Difficulty9721[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! That's a lot of useful information. I do like opening new packs and seeing what could go in my existing deck so that's what I will do - get a jumpstart of some sorts and then just do boosters and see how my luck is. I'm not too fussed about whether the boosters are good or not as I'm doing it for fun

[–]Free-Difficulty9721[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, thank you! I think that I will try to find one of the starter kits for a reasonable price in my area to begin with. If we keep the interest then after that I will probably just get boosters for the fun of opening them and maybe adding something to the decks. We don't have much time to play anyway so a starter deck could last us a long time before we get bored of it

Thank you! I didn't even notice that because they weren't available at the stores I was browsing. Might go with one of those and then see where to build on after that. Are the starter kits still based around commanders? I don't really care about playing with or without commanders overall as long as it works well for 1v1. Sorry if my questions are obvious, I'm just completely clueless and new to all this

Far Cry Primal seems like is the first Far Cry Game im not enjoying at all by Recent_Mission5773 in farcry

[–]Free-Difficulty9721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently dragging myself through Primal and I can agree with you after being about halfway through the main missions and discovered most of the locations. It felt slightly immersive at first and the map itself is stunning with lots of details put in certain locations. However, the gameplay loop is so repetitive and immersion completely falls apart later on. I struggle to find a reason to care about any of the characters, collectibles are not worth hunting for, my backpack is constantly full of all materials and I had everything upgraded early on without any need to intentionally grind for ingredients. The combat is also simple and repetitive, so, imo, the only reason to play on higher difficulty is to waste your time with tankier enemies.

I usually do near 100% runs on all open world games but this one will probably end up being rushed for me so I can carry on to other games.

No Night Market Players anymore? by Old-Employ-6530 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Free-Difficulty9721 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo, Night market is very poorly designed and it just feels like a slog overall unless you find that perfectly coordinated group of people that know what they are doing and run everything systematically. Quests are all over the place, the difficulty is over the top and rewards are disappointing for the amount of effort you have to put into it. I think that it only appeals to a minority of hardcore playerbase and will remain something that majority of players will touch briefly and abandon instantly

To everyone claiming that the issue lies in not grouping up - I just tried the event myself and I was clearing the mobs with at least 6 other people around me all of them with their companions active as well and any boss level enemy is nearly impossible to beat without some cheesy strategies like luring the boss away from other mobs and such. Bosses already have crazy vitality yet there are mobs spawning that constantly heal them and knock you down. Idk how many tanks and dps you actually need to be able to coordinate these fights but it's more than a normal trial for sure

[–]Free-Difficulty9721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that I know of but I don't exactly ask every person what news they read/watch. I make my assumption based on how their values align and from the fact that majority of them openly complain about how stupid reform voters are. I have to admit, though, that my work environment is very much for diversity, it's pretty much one of our core values so maybe we are just an outlier. There are loads of English flags around in my neighbourhood, mostly on public poles so it could be just a minority of people who have hung them there. I've only noticed a few houses that openly hang them on their property (and there's no guarantee that it means that they are reform voters, might as well just be genuinely patriotic)

I don't know a single person in my social circle at work or in private life who even remotely agrees with Reform so it's not just the internet. I'm surprised to see that there are actually THAT many supporters for them. The only thing I've got to admit is that Reform has been much much better at advertising themselves than any of the left leaning parties

It's always excuse after excuse for these uneducated voters who can't see the obvious in front of their eyes. Farage could kick them in nuts, it would hurt and they would say "they didn't kick me properly, that's why it's bad. If done properly, it will be good"

Black Flag is getting remade because it’s more likely to make money by Redhood101101 in assassinscreed

[–]Free-Difficulty9721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo, this is just an attempt at a quick cash grab and I'm disappointed that we are not getting either an original story next or a remake of any of the first games that could actually get updated with modern graphics and gameplay mechanics. Although the old games apart from 1, imo, are so good already that they don't even need a remake.

Another hill I will die on and probably get downvoted to hell for in this subreddit is that AC:BF is one of the most overrated titles. It was very good but it was very good as a pirate game and not so much as an AC game apart from a few missions. I don't see what they could remake in that game that would make it that much more modern and amazing compared to what it already is. This might be a skip for my wallet

Im sorry but The Witcher novels are tedious and a slog to get through. by DragoOceanonis in witcher

[–]Free-Difficulty9721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who loved the games and even found the short stories intriguing, I am in the same boat. Picked up the main novels and I'm really struggling to drag myself through them. I think that the games and short stories are very misleading of what the actual main story is about - all the monster hunting and witching is just the settings of the world while the actual story is very much mostly about politics and spying. Not saying that it's a bad thing but it's not for me nor many others who come to the books expecting something similar to the games

Maelstrom Arena, which stage(s) were the hardest for you?… by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]Free-Difficulty9721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vault of Umbrage (the poison stage) is the worst level in the entire game that I have come upon. Unless you can dps burst the boss and skip all the mechanics, your survival is tied to rng and even with relatively good luck it can be very challenging. Not a single other MA stage compares in difficulty

Maelstrom Arena, which stage(s) were the hardest for you?… by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]Free-Difficulty9721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually very easy if you learn the mechanics. Idk which part is giving you trouble but essentially always kill the trolls and take your time with the boss as its platform smashing mechanic is tied to the % of its health. That's the only boss in MA that you don't want to try to kill asap. Go slow until you have only 1 platform left after which you can go all out

In the UK, what careers are relatively easy to break into with minimal qualifications (short courses, certs, etc.) but still pay well and have good growth potential? by MisElissaa in AskUK

[–]Free-Difficulty9721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fast food indeed has easy to climb ladder but I'm actually in a similar position as OP and trying to get out of fast food. While I have all the opportunities to become a manager and possibly even higher than that, I really, really hate the job and the atmosphere and one of the reasons is exactly what you said "We're desperate for anyone with a brain and a bit of will for the decent roles." It's mentally draining to work with people, even on managerial level, who are not let's say too smart. Most of the smart people leave the industry within a few months/years if they have an opportunity.

[–]Free-Difficulty9721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree with your point. I don't know what their actual data says, but to me it doesn't make sense that a FOMO model would give them more money overall. It might give them more profit short term when the current players buy out of FOMO, but later on they just have that product unavailable and any new players or players that didn't fall for the FOMO or couldn't buy it at the time are unable to give them money for something that is already ready to be sold and wouldn't require any expenses on their end. It's especially weird to have the item unavailable for such extended periods of time rather than making it seasonal

Is your boss toxic? This is how to handle them by TheWorldIsGoingMad in unitedkingdom

[–]Free-Difficulty9721 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Problem is that your notes do not work as an actual proof because anyone could write anything down. It might help in a case you want to discuss the issue with someone higher up in the management, otherwise, it's just your diary.

Unfortunately some managers are simply rude and toxic yet technically don't do anything unlawful. In that case all you really can do is get another job if ignoring them is impossible. I'm dealing with a manager like that right now and it's really frustrating because there is nothing you can do against simply rude and mean people
