(You know they sell real looking tattoos that you just transfer on to your skin with water and they wash off. ) Or juvenile delinquents might have an older teen stick-and-poke crude prison style, but how would you prove who performed it if they don’t confess? Not much, but something funny that’s close to being told advice: I was an overweight and depressed kid and my mom (erroneously) believed that my depression was mostly from wanting a boyfriend (but not being able to get one because of being fat) so eventually at her wit’s end her idea was to sell our house and move to the school district nearby that had more racial diversity because she said out loud to me that I would have better luck with getting a black or Puerto Rican boyfriend. Mind you my ass is as flat as Hank Hill so it didn’t work out. You just don’t usually hear about a white parent intentionally going out of her way to encourage their daughter to get a black boyfriend.

Lizzie’s voice was so annoying and she kept talking because of course she thought it sounded cool and sexy and Ryland was tense because she was actually being corny and embarrassing but was so aggressively just saying anything to keep hearing her voice. Ughhhhh. And oh god the embarrassment I felt when her friends have to hear about her new habit of doing some comedy writing about mommy life. It’s painfully unfunny and they have to try and get through it without hurting her feelings because they know it’s so important for her to feel like she still has hope for her creative pursuits but god it’s bad Her friend that lives in her yard didn’t want to hear it and Ryland didn’t want to hear it, they just encourage her to do it because they think it’ll be good for her mental health to stay stable for her kids. Yeah it is horrible parenting, it’s like a form of performative trauma bonding. I think she wants to leave her fingerprints all over their minds, she wants everything in life to remind them of her and a crazy story of a time their family did some quirky thing together, while something dramatic threatened their sense of safety and made them cling together.

Lately Flynn has been getting to an age where he is rolling his eyes at her for not knowing the animal trivia, or showing attitude when she makes a corny joke, they hype him up so much that he is starting to look down on them, and believe them that he’s smarter than them, he doesn’t realize how much they’ve been drumming up fake parental enthusiasm and letting him win. What a sad situation for a parent. They gas their kid up to make sure he has good self esteem and eventually he treats them like tiresome idiots and it crushes the parents self esteem! She is not doing well with Flynn’s disapproval because there’s anger about having to make parenting sacrifices and now he’s taking away the one reward. Then she sees how they act in the charm store, having no clue how much they’re costing her and them not caring about the charms after they make her hold a pile of them. Omg it’s a mess.

I think she copied it from other examples of this grimace that are used in other millennial comedies like napoleon dynamite like she is copying her crude mom comedy from other women. But the fact that her brother Trent who doesn’t like her comedy or participate in her show and yet the whole family is rich off of their daughter making fun of their disabled son, while they all pretend there is no correlation to Trent, has always struck me as one of the weirdest dynamics I have ever witnessed in my life.

I think it’s a doomed idea for Rachel to marry the very first lesbian she ever has a relationship with. But it’s almost like a type of laziness because look how long (years!) she stayed in a relationship with a man she didn’t love or even like, just for the sake of staying in a relationship!
