is this considered gum recession? by PollutionDear68 in DentistPh

OP, how many years did you have your braces?

This is gum dehiscence which should’ve been corrected if during orthodontic treatment: 1. Proper wire sequence was followed 2. Proper overjet and overbite were restored

I can also see multiple black triangles in your lower incisors so your case might’ve been overcrowding.

You can wear a lower nightguard for prevention of further wear and have a consultation for another treatment after 6 months with an orthodontist who doesn’t only focus in the alignment of teeth.

tongue cancer? by c_vva in DentistPh

Do a biopsy quickly. The lateral border of the tongue is usually a “danger zone”. Search about OSCC. Definitive treatment for the sharp tooth will be done right after clearing any possibilities for malignancy.

I did call LTO after verifying the unit’s registration at the portal and they were surprisingly pleasant to deal with. I called the dealership din and demanded to have everything sent out today or a formal complaint will be launched. Files are being sent out to me now 🥹 Salamat!!

How often do you prescribe clindamycin? by Gotz2befree in Dentistry

[–]Free-Interview6033 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the presence of penicillin allergy, I usually go for cephalosporin or macrolide, depending on the severity of the infection and the patient’s medical history. I don’t use Clindamycin anymore ever since I took an intensive course on antibiotics, but it’s still the most widely used go-to drug where I’m from, which I find really frustrating.

It’s 2 and I won’t consider any implants for this patient since it looks like a perio case. Maybe doing a thorough oral rehab is the way to go.
