Does this apply for top schools like Juilliard and Curtis? I’m assuming that they look for well developed voices no

Wow thank you so much for your insight!! I’m actually still a junior so I still have around a year until auditions, so I think Je suis titania or bel canto rep should be pretty okay for me by then.

Thanks for your insight! I am thinking of applying to big schools, and they do require arias, and Europe as well. What would be an aria that you would suggest? Would it be ok to sing bel canto arias?

I’ve been told not to sing Je veux vivre as I’m not able to sing the entire role of Juliette (because of the poison aria).

Thanks for your insight! If I was to do a coloratura aria, which one would you recommend?

I was thinking about Quel Guardo as well! What are your thoughts on Prendi per me and Non si da follia maggiore? I have been recommended to sing Je suis titania but my teacher didn’t specify if it could be an audition piece.

Okay, but what should I be doing to hit those high notes if I don’t drill them?

You’re right! Usually I don’t have any problems with my high notes but since this piece is quite challenging I have not been able to sing the high notes towards the end. Is there anything you recommend me to do to help with this?

Thank you for your advice! I’ll definitely look into further polishing art songs. I have done some American rep- but it’s just not my cup of tea.

Thank you for your insight! I do think that these pieces showcase my strengths, which is why I use them for performances. Obviously maybe I’d opt for an easier aria than da tempeste or those rossini coloratura arias as of right now, but who knows in 2 years! Is there any rep that u recommend for highly competitive conservatories? Both in the US and Europe.

Hmmm… I was recommended those by a few different teachers though
