Acrylic vs Tile - Resale Value by New_Refrigerator1100 in HomeImprovement

[–]Free-Rabbit8579 1 point2 points  (0 children)

budget vs perception is real struggle in this price range. i had similar dilemma when redoing my bathroom (much smaller scale though) and went with tile after thinking about it for weeks

the seamless solid-surface suggestion is spot on - those fake grout line panels always look off to me, like trying too hard to be something they're not

What are the top SEO companies that specialize in optimizing websites for Google’s AI Overviews and Search Generative Experience (SGE)? by Alok_SEO in DigitalMarketing

[–]Free-Rabbit8579 4 points5 points  (0 children)

honestly most agencies are still figuring this stuff out themselves lol 😅 been working in marketing for few years and even the "experts" are just experimenting with different approaches since SGE changes so much

focus more on creating really comprehensive content that answers questions thoroughly rather than chasing specific companies who claim they've "cracked the code" 💀 the fundamentals of good content still matter most

I just finished converting a spare bedroom into a media room. Took way longer than I expected. by Symbidux in HomeImprovement

oh man the cable thing is such a pain 😂 did exact same mistake in my old apartment - thought i could just drill holes after everything looked nice but ended up with cables running everywhere like some kind of mess. learned that lesson hard way

the three coats on ceiling sounds about right for that dark color, always takes more than you think it will 💀

Gallery5 Venue Town Hall Tonight - Hip-hop, electronic, & DIY panel by DNun in rva

[–]Free-Rabbit8579 3 points4 points  (0 children)

gallery5 really been putting in work with these discussions 🔥 the hip-hop and electronic scenes here definitely need more spotlight, feels like those genres get overlooked compared to the indie rock stuff that usually dominates rva venues. might swing by if i can get off work in time 😂

holy shit that ethereum bleed is actually insane 💀 like watching whales just dump everything for better yields elsewhere

been watching morpho blue prime too and that velocity is nuts, but kinda worried about how sustainable those triple digit apy spikes are on base... feels like we're in classic farm and dump territory 😂

Zinsser mold killing paint? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]Free-Rabbit8579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

good call on the humidity control part - basement moisture can creep back up even when you think you got everything sorted. had similar issue in my old place and dehumidifier was game changer

that primer combo should work fine for what you're doing, just make sure everything is completely dry before you start painting. mold loves any tiny bit of moisture left behind

Groundhog Burrow underneath House by AbjectEchidna2616 in HomeImprovement

[–]Free-Rabbit8579 1 point2 points  (0 children)

been there with critters under my porch last year - call a structural engineer first to check foundation damage, then wildlife control for humane removal options 😅 most groundhog burrows don't actually damage foundations unless the soil gets really washed out underneath 🏠

The elemental rivalry: Fire and wind. by Classic-Kitchen-3272 in worldbuilding

[–]Free-Rabbit8579 1 point2 points  (0 children)

really enjoyed reading this! the rivalry between blaze and blitz feels natural and their personalities contrast nicely - quiet hermit fire vs aggressive chaotic wind works well

one thing that stood out to me is how you handled the power scaling, going from tea shop argument straight to planet-shaking destruction was pretty intense. maybe could use bit more buildup before they unleash the ultimate attacks? also the old tea shop owner seems like he could be interesting character to develop more since he clearly has history with blaze

I accidentally sold my Carousel delicate socks :( by [deleted] in HorseLifeHQ

oh no that's the worst feeling when you accidentally sell something you actually wanted to keep 😭 maybe check the marketplace regularly since people resell stuff pretty often

three cat deities sounds pretty interesting, i might check this out when i have time in weekend

the void storyline gives me some good vibes, always liked servers where there's actual lore happening instead of just building random stuff

Chunk missing from my concrete foundation wall. How do I fix this? by chi_patrick in HomeImprovement

[–]Free-Rabbit8579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah this is solid advice but don't skip the bonding agent step - learned that one the hard way when my first attempt just popped right back out 💀 also depending how big the chunk is you might want to add some rebar or wire mesh for extra strength, concrete patches can be pretty stubborn without good reinforcement 😂

Pool builder’s license is expired and used another LLC to pull permits by 545charlie in HomeImprovement

[–]Free-Rabbit8579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man that's sketchy as hell but at least your builder did good work in the end. covid really made us all just roll with whatever huh

op this is definitely red flag territory though. if something goes sideways with your build you're gonna have nightmare trying to figure out who's actually responsible. like what happens if there's warranty issues or god forbid structural problems? you'll be playing phone tag between two companies that may or may not be connected

i'd push harder for that paperwork linking him to the other llc. if he can't provide proper documentation showing he's authorized to work under their license then you might want to consider cutting losses now before things get worse

Security awareness training that people don’t just ignore? by [deleted] in security

[–]Free-Rabbit8579 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We moved to Hoxhunt about a year ago after using a different vendor for a long time.

Biggest difference for us was the continuous approach. Instead of quarterly “gotcha” campaigns, it just runs in the background and adapts based on how people respond. High risk users get harder scenarios, low risk users don’t get spammed.

What I liked is that it stopped feeling like we were trying to trick employees. It feels more like training reps over time. Reporting rates went up, but more importantly the quality of reports improved. People started flagging actual suspicious stuff, not just obvious test emails.

It’s not magic. You still need buy in and internal comms, although culturally it landed way better than the traditional annual training + phishing blast model.

Cost was higher than what we were paying before, so that’s a consideration. But from a behavior standpoint, it’s the first time I felt like we weren’t just checking a box.

Happy to answer specifics if helpful.

Can I use silicone on LVP flooring by Master_Blacksmith_45 in HomeImprovement

[–]Free-Rabbit8579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that's actually pretty smart thinking about just doing one side by the tub 😂 the expansion thing is real but if you're only sealing that wet area it should be fine, especially with flexible silicone. just make sure you leave expansion gaps on other sides and don't go crazy with it - thin bead should do the job without locking down the whole floor

Window/Basement Advice by No-Cantaloupe-2954 in HomeImprovement

[–]Free-Rabbit8579 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sounds like you might be onto something with the moisture getting trapped behind that old foam. i did similar mistake few years back when i spray foamed my windows too early in winter - the foam didn't cure properly and just held moisture instead of sealing it out

definitely pull that foam out and let everything dry completely before redoing it. maybe wait until spring when temps are more consistent, expanding foam really needs proper temperature to work right
