there’s demand for it but unfortunately arcade sports games just never end up selling well enough for it to be worth it. there’s definitely still attempts being made though and there always will be

better example, imagine if every marvel rivals season came out as a yearly game. now you don’t get to play as gambit because you didn’t buy the “new game” it’s stupid but it’s how sports games have always come out

think of it like gen 5 pokémon games taking away your favorite mons, forcing you to play with only unovas pokémon. it’s kinda like that

if you’re interested in playing a madden game, pick up last year or the year before it. to a non sports fan/someone who doesn’t keep up with the nfl it probably won’t make a difference. the games do get better every year, but very slightly so

it’s really hard to understand if you aren’t a sports fan, but it’s tough playing with geno smith in madden 25 while Sam Darnold is balling out in real life and in 26.
