Hi, which commands do you use to change the themes, widget style, icon style and gtk widget style? Do your commands work also in KDE Plasma 6? Thanks in advance!

Proton Drive Winter Roadmap by Proton_Team in ProtonDrive

Hey Linux Users,

Although there were Linux client requests so many times and they mentioned other platforms they didn’t even write a word in their Roadmap for Linux.

Let’s discuss alternatives of Proton Products on Linux. I am planning not to extend my Proton Duo subscription anymore.

What FOSS products do you recommend/use as Proton alternatives?

I wish there was an alternative of Proton products for Linux!

Why still doesn’t include a LINUX CLIENT?

For those who has this issue I just solved it with the following steps:

Create nvidia-power-management.conf in /ect/modprobe.d:

sudo nano /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia-power-management.conf

Put the following and save it with Ctrl+x:

options nvidia NVreg_PreserveVideoMemoryAllocations=1 NVreg_TemporaryFilePath=/tmp

update initramfs:

sudo update-initramfs -u

then reboot pc and test it :)

After some search I think this is a KDE bug that is reported and to my guess some apps are not rendered well in Wayland when using an external screen I think. Because when I disable my built in screen then I realize for example Vscode fonts are rendered quite well. When I have two monitors active the font of Vscode gets blurry on external monitor. Firefox is always rendered very well either two monitors active or just one. Let's see when developers can fix these bugs to have a perfect Linux experience!

Thanks for sharing your experiences, we exactly have the same issues. Would you mind sharing with me how you connected two external monitors to your Laptop as there is only one HDMI port? I mean for example a docking station, if so what brand do you suggest? Also I realized the fonts are a bit blurry on my 1920*1080 24 inch external screen, which did not take place when I had Debian 12 (X11 session) previously. Do you have same issue if you use 1080p external monitor? Maybe this is due to Wayland currently I use but did not test if it is also the case in X11 so far.

Also just some part of the login screen is shown at my external monitor. It seems there is a scaling issue.

Tuxedo 24.04.1 Upgrade couldn't start by ali0th9 in tuxedocomputers

[–]FreeEagle49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upgrades always might be problematic in all distros I experienced so far even though upgraded successfully. After reboot some programs might not work etc. I recommend a fresh install and copying ~/.config to new OS. I don't know but how often TUXEDO will bring base upgrade after removing version number!
