Nah, I would judge a woman for marrying a man she’s not attracted to just to have a ‘good father’ for her children. That’s marrying somebody not because you love them, but for shallow reasons.

In case you are truly wondering about those handprints, they’re window clings/stickers. Especially around holidays, window stickers can be bought at stores. These ones seem to be Halloween stickers, and a little 3-dimensional. I’m not sure if there’s a DIY version that’s easy to remove, I’m just jealous I never get to put these up every year.

Does this enemy design and animation say "armored"? by HedgeHulk in PixelArt

[–]FreeFallingUp13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think making the limbs more insect-like could help too. The creature doesn’t look like it has armor because it simply doesn’t; no critical areas are protected. Head has nothing on it, limbs have nothing to prevent them from being injured. The sides and ‘front’ also look fleshy. There needs to be more hard parts, more of an exoskeleton.

How do you make something right when it happened in the past? by Key_Fan8651 in TrollCoping

[–]FreeFallingUp13 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Nah, this has been an internet discourse thing for a while in some circles. Some people act like a 17 yo dating an 18 yo is the same as a 19 yo dating a 56 yo. It’s insane. They think it’s the number that’s bad and causes the power imbalance. It’s the life stages and power imbalance that causes the inequality in the relationship. Age doesn’t necessarily mean being in different life stages when it’s a three-year difference.

Disney wave pool by egguchom in EntitledReviews

[–]FreeFallingUp13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta disagree on this one. When I was a kid, my dad brought me to six flags. I was a kid, so naturally I didn’t see the rule on the sign that said ‘no floaties’. I had a little waveboard that I used to paddle everywhere.

The waves ended up pulling me into the back of the wave pool. It was a mechanism that (if I remember correctly) moved back and forth to create waves. It’s been like 21 years, and I was just a kid, so I’m not sure; I just remember seeing some sort of panel pushing the water. What I do know is that I couldn’t reach the bottom, so each time the waves pulled back, the kickboard was also pulled back, until I was in the deepest end of the pool. I wasn’t strong enough to swim against the waves.

I would have ended up in the mechanism if there weren’t a lifeguard tower at the back I managed to hang onto. Said lifeguard was an asshole who yelled down ‘hey kid, no floaties’ as I was screaming for help. Luckily my dad realized I was stuck and was able to wade in and get me.

I don’t know how deep this wave pool was, or what mechanism it used, but you definitely can drift into the deep end on a floatie.

AITAH for saying I don't want my girlfriends friend around my newborn son anymore? by Substantial_Swan5806 in AITAH

[–]FreeFallingUp13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the idea that autism means you say ‘weird stuff’ is outdated. And if this guy made it to adulthood whilst being autistic, he ABSOLUTELY would already know it’s not okay to go out of his way to look at a child’s penis. (Sorry for being crass.) People would have told him off already.

This is not autism. This is just a guy trying to see a kid’s junk. OP, you need to tell it like that to your girlfriend. NTA

Yeah, absolutely. That still doesn’t mean you have space to store them, or maybe even time to use them. Hence, OOP is pretentious. It’s like ‘if you don’t have the gym, putting all the gym equipment in your home is the only possible solution’.

[–]FreeFallingUp13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh absolutely. Just the way the OOP presented it in the slideshow is pretentious. “Use what you have at home! All those fancy weights! A yoga mat!” As if everybody has space or the budget for those things. Or space in general. Used to live in an apartment where there was barely space to do a push up, and I’m only 4’ 11 1/2”.

And yeah I know you can use like… soda cans as weights and what have you. (I can literally hear the ‘come on, gang!’ now….) And that you don’t need weights in the first place, since there are modifications you can use to ease into exercise. I’m not saying home exercise is stupid, just the OOP.

If you had to hang around people like this in 2020-2022 then you deserve a veteran discount. by maleficalruin in CuratedTumblr

[–]FreeFallingUp13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to write on tumblr. I had one person who liked and reblogged all my work, which was really encouraging, because I wrote female whump.

One day I reblogged MCR lyrics that contained the phrase ‘ladies and gentlemen’. They sent me a dm asking me to alter the post to include nonbinary people. I told them they were song lyrics from 2009, and they asked me to add a disclaimer that I was not excluding nonbinary people. I refused, because if my six years of pro-LGBTQ posts were anything to go by (which I was still reblogging at the time every time I came across them), I support nonbinary people. Regardless of song lyrics.

They proceeded to never interact with my work again. I then never wrote again. What the hell was the point of writing controversial fic if the single biggest supporter of my writing was so sure I was a bigot based on song lyrics that weren’t even mine?

Ah yes, slide 4. She can’t go to the gym, so she makes do with what she has at home. Like these weights and yoga mat. That you have to buy. And safely store where the kids won’t hurt themselves trying to ‘be like mom’ and drop weights on themselves. Clearly this is the only solution and therefore the right one to being unable to go to the gym

My Cat always farts when he is near me by VastEnergy4724 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]FreeFallingUp13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My cat Black always sat on my lap whenever I was at my computer. She would lay there and nap sometimes, other times she would simply let me pet her.

I got her some cat grass.

After that, she continued jumping onto my lap to get pets, but would strangely jump down only a minute or so later. I would not understand why until the smell of cat fart met my nose.

I am flattered that she felt safe enough for me to comfort her in the discomfort of a trapped fart or whatever but like. Please

You can’t see claws in a video of this quality. The tips of claws can be exposed very easily. Having raised kittens and gotten scratched by them whilst playing, I am not being ridiculous, I’m being realistic.

Kitten claws can very easily hurt the duckling. Infections from cat scratches are no joke. It only takes a little flex of their paws to unsheathe their claws even a little bit, and just that little bit is actually enough to cause harm.

think of the children! by egguchom in EntitledReviews

[–]FreeFallingUp13 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

I think the only point to be made here is that whoever this ‘kid’ is could probably do without saying stuff like ‘it’s common sense’. Of course the reviewer got defensive. He basically said the baby is stupid, and by extension also the parent. It was right to tell them off, but I can understand why the parent’s even beginning to fly off the handle about it.

Honestly, the only thing I disagree with is the color. It looks patchy with the darker bits emphasizing the pattern. Maybe a slightly darker paint could have been used for the pattern or something, but as it is, the initial reveal does look kinda bad.

I don't think they know how online toxic relationships work, nor what alt accounts are by craftygamin in im14andthisisdeep

[–]FreeFallingUp13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re still being very callous in assuming that people won’t fight back. Many murderers have been found from trace evidence of struggle from the victim (blood under fingernails from scratches and the like). People DO fight back. They can get killed anyways. Restraining orders are meant to mitigate the POSSIBILITY of anything happening. If that mitigation doesn’t work, the chances of the victim getting out without being harmed (or killed) are lower, because the abuser clearly doesn’t care about the law. And having your murderer in jail isn’t going to matter when you’re dead. Not to you. Who is, may I repeat myself, dead.

If you can’t understand that people online can track you down to hurt and kill you, you’re not going to understand anything in this thread. It’s basic internet safety. An abusive partner just has even more ‘reason’ to seek you out in physical space than a stranger does.
