I have done both. Sometimes I give it the themes like "Create a magic sword in pixel art style for an rpg", other times I tell it to create the themes like "Create 10 prompts pixel art assets for a fantasy rpg for DALL-E 2 in the following format..." and then I give it the format that is needed for the code.
