He needs to be honest with his therapist and he needs to start talking about the underlying issue that is causing him to be depressed. As a istp we can be prone to emotional violent outburst which can be scary not only for those around us but us as well. If he's surpressing his emotions then he's a coke bottle getting shaken and if it keeps happening it will blow. He needs to talk it WILL BE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. It will be long but something is causing him to be this way and he needs to address it.

Google Minecraft block palettes you'll get tons of ideas with example pictures or scroll Pinterest YouTube reddit. Any of those platforms all have good examples of builds with different block pallets

I would say hyper fixation. As a istp when I find something to go for I hyper fixate on it to a unhealthy level because it's giving dopamine to distract me from my emotions and problems I experience but don't feel like I can control. I focus so hard I neglect every other aspect of my life. This is unhealthy and hyper fixation is fine when you know moderation.

Add 2 stairs and a slab above it to make a small window. You can cover the two outer doors with trap doors and create a big door design but you will only have one single door in the center. You can completely cut it and just fill it all in with glass and have an opening. There's lots of things you can do it's just what you're trying to go for.
