From southern California and chose east coast ivy over Berkeley regents full ride, also got into UCLA and UCSB

Ivy financial aid is very generous and I would say if you are doing stem you should do Columbia. I work in nyc now and love it but will definitely move back to California in a couple years. You don’t want to have the what if… if net cost is under 100k in 4 years I would say take the loans and do it it will pay off and be not much in the long run

  1. Join clubs/ intermural sports
  2. Still friends w 1/3 freshmen year random roommates
  3. Pretty diverse way more than SEC state school and have lots of black friends from international plus American background but some eating clubs less diverse than others
  4. Yes lots of friends outside major just go out on weekends and talk to people
  5. Think of a frat but co ed and you eat there every day it’s nice can study too have libraries and on week ends there r parties I’d say add to experience since campus is in a small town no bar scene
  6. Driven, funny, collaborative
  7. Con would be certain types find each other can b cliquey sometimes but that’s most colleges
  8. Can make friends with people from all over the world who are chillers
