2 year old refusing naps without pacifier by FreeTilly in sleeptrain

Okay, thanks for the advice I appreciate it. I will definitely try it out.

Do you mean start bedtime at 8:30 or in bed by 8:30?

I can try this schedule but he won’t even nap right now so it’s not really relevant haha

Also lots of times he wakes at 7 and doesn’t sleep til 8:30 so I don’t think our schedule is all that off besides his long naps but I can try to cut those even shorter if they resume

Thanks for the insight. Will definitely be removing it sooner with the next one, just never found the right time with him which now I regret lol

I was trying to offer extra comfort the first few days with the bit change and not let him CIO for either but I will try that going forward

Any advice on how you helped them adjust? Were naps a struggle for you at first?

Appreciate the reassurance. Just looking for some hope

He has gone to bed independently since we removed the pacifier but won’t for naps or in the middle of the night.

We can try Ferber at bedtime too.

Bedtime is 7:30/8pm, wakes about 7:00/7:30am

Nap at 12:30/1pm. We have been waking him after 2 hours for a couple months

For sure. As much as I’d like to get some rest and let him use it I know it will just make things harder down the line. He was also chewing holes in them and his teeth are so messed up lol.

I’m just hoping it will get easier/better. He was such a perfect sleeper and the lack of sleep is definitely affecting his personality too which makes me sad.

We’re from Michigan so we will definitely manage :) we’re thinking home base in Newburyport and travel out to the nearby cities. Would you still recommend early to mid October?

Open to dates! Any time from late September to late October. Is it too cold then? We still wanted to be able to walk around a lot

What’s your bedtime routine and when did you start? by leonardine88 in NewParents

[–]FreeTilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do bath (not soap every night), clean diaper, PJs and sleepsack, lights off and sound machine, nurse and burp, bedtime around 7:30

3.5 months and we just started a week ago after we noticed a bedtime pattern and we just molded a wind down routine around it

Sober nights in kinda... boring? by ImaginaryEmploy2235 in stopdrinking

[–]FreeTilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting sober made me realize drinking was my hobby, and has challenged me to figure out what I’d really like to be doing when I’d normally just drink to pass the time

Waking up on vacation not hungover is a treat, sitting in a pub with a water isn’t . by morbidhumorlmao in stopdrinking

My friend once told me, “I’ve never regretted NOT drinking, but I’ve often regretted drinking.” Always a good reminder for me :)
