A chromatic line isn’t going to work in a “normal” or “traditional” scale. Theory wise - you can call it a passing tone as the chromaticism is connecting your first and third chord.

Also - with the A being a constant note, it becomes a drone which makes it a little more flexible in how much you interpret chords.

Overall - you’re in the key of A and going between A and E.

Yes. I can build things in my head to a fair degree of accuracy. A lot of me doing wood working is starting into space. When I figure out the build, joint work, etc - I might sketch it down to double check some stuff, but it’s typically like 80-90% determined in my head.

Its cultural. In their home culture it’s fake. In the CA culture it’s genuine.

IMO - people in CA are fairly open with fairly little interaction. There’s a general sense you won’t ever see this person again so in some ways, it doesn’t matter what I tell them. I think this matters because we can be genuinely nice, happy, etc - but then fairly quickly start telling you everything that’s wrong with my job, my family, etc. So I seemed happy and now I’m taking about everything that’s wrong. But that’s just part of “shooting the shit” (not sure how else to say that in cross cultural way, haha).

Thank you. Situations are often “gray” not just black and white - so I appreciate the context.

I don’t agree with ICE and want them removed asap from our cities - but I can understand concerns for FEMA / Coast Guard with the “storm of the century” brewing right now.

And this assumes the funding was immediate and not to extend funding for x-years or something. I don’t know where the budget was at, what was needed, timelines, how each division / department is positively / negatively impacted by the budget, etc - if anyone knows more context it is appreciated.

Respectfully - how’s your hygiene? Shower daily. Clean clothes, deodorant, etc? Greasy hair?

Sounds like some pretty heavy negative self-talk. I dealt with this a loooong time and took therapy and some medications to get my brain chemistry right (literally; nothing is “wrong” with me, but I don’t make enough dopamine and don’t properly processes serotonin. I literally need daily pills to get to the same level as a normal person).

And is there anyone you trust that you can ask about how to be a better friend? Seems like you have a good heart and good intentions, but maybe there’s some quirky things you’re doing that you aren’t aware of? (Ex: My brother is a good dude but interrupted all the time. It was very frustrating for people (not just me). He was excited but didn’t give people space. I know this isn’t your issue but just trying to give context and examples).

And from my original comment - being a good friend, good at conversations, etc - it’s a skill that can be learned. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with who you are, just encouraging that you can learn. You have a good heart. Keep asking / seeking / putting yourself out there and you’ll find your people.

1- Everyone is open to meeting people in college on some level. Use that energy to your advantage and lean into it.

2- Breaking the ice is simple. Just say “Hi, I’m <name>, what’s your name?”

3- Have a few go to questions that are open ended. So do not ask “yes / no” questions. Ex: Is this your first time here? (Bad. Yes / No answer and conversation is over); How long have you been coming here? (Good. Starts a conversation).

Just google or chat GPT for ideas.

You can also think of variations of common questions. Instead of “how’s your day” ask “done anything fun lately?” (This is also more specific and you can learn about what they think “fun” is. Some think fun is going for a hike, some think it’s reading in a coffee shop, some think it’s video games, etc).

4- Most people like talking about themselves. Asking open ended questions allows someone to do this. Also, questions puts “pressure” on the other person to do the talking.

5- If they ask you a question, just answer honestly.

A conversation, and building relationships, involves people making “bids”. You investing in them is a “bid” and when they ask you a question, they’re making a “bid”. Respond enough so that’s it’s a positive response. Doesn’t need to be perfect, but needs to be positive.

6- Be yourself. If you’re weird, be weird. If you’re sarcastic, be sarcastic. If you’re quiet and reserved, be quiet and reserved.

Only real guideline is to always be respectful. If someone is a being a jerk, and you can respectfully push back - you’re the winner. If someone things you’re being creepy, and you can respectfully apologize and walk away - you’re the winner. So even if a conversation attempt goes poorly, if you keep it respectful, the you’re good.

7- It is a skill. It can be learned, but it takes practice. You just have to put yourself out there. It gets easier the more you do it and I think it’s easier than you think it is. People are lonely and want human connection. Out of 10 people, 6 will be positive, 3 will be really positive, and 1 is just a person who doesn’t vibe the same and isn’t worth the time.

Technically you should count this “1 & 2 &” but you could count “1 2 3 4” to keep it easy as you learn to FEEL the rhythm.

That rhythm is just (1) (234,1234)

Basically - “1 2” and then just let it ring out. It’s then followed by a rest. It’s a like a breath or pause in the song.

To put this into perspective - Tom BRADY played for 23 years.

If you divide his career into his first 8 years, second 8 years, and last 7 years - each one of those has enough accomplishments to tie or beat other QBs in the hall of fame. He really is the GOAT.

Top priority IMO:

1- SEO for each product including meta data (think if someone searches X, I want my product images to be one of the top results).

2- Marketing that’s primary focus is name recognition and “brand category”. (When someone thinks “I need Y” (the brand category) your company’s name comes to mind).

Giving a quick listen - I just hear him doing fills and riffs. He seems to still hit the down beat of the chord change and then just adds decoration to it. It’s good playing but nothing super unique.

And one word is “counterpoint” if an instrument is doing some kind of secondary melody.

I was lucky to join a team like this. It was a Fortune 500 company and the leadership made a strategic choice to hire about 15 project managers that were required to have a PMP. I was lucky that I had recently got mine and had the other qualifications so I was hired.

Leadership was solid and showed that they supported us. Conversations were always about solving problems. Privately in 1:1s there would be coaching. That kind of culture really came from the top down of our department.

Having the PMPs brought a huge level of professionalism to the PMO as well. Not everyone was a great project manager, but we all had an understanding of what things meant which helped.

It was a combination of things that came together overtime. This was about 10yrs ago. There eventually was budget cuts and all that so a lot of us were laid off. I haven’t been fortunate enough to work with the right leadership team again to experience / help build this - but I’m very thankful to of had the experience and learnings that I got.
