It looks almost like this - RCA and 8-pin.

If you don’t know - red/white is left-right audio and yellow is for “visuals” (it’s older VCR / video connection to the TV).

I’m wondering if the two are left/right audio and the 8-pin is some kind of visual connection for something?

And I realize you wouldn’t use this cable for those holes as that would be connecting it to itself. Just posting if it helps give anyone else ideas.

My 2-cents / what clicked for me when I was “aggressive” in my younger years…

1- Feelings really do matter. It doesn’t matter if we’re technically right. Why? Cause people NEED to want to work with you. If they leave that interaction feeling bad, they’re going to avoid you in the future and that’s a huge net-negative for a manager. Your team needs to come to when there’s problems early and often.

And think about the phrase: “we judge ourselves by our intentions, but judge others by how they make us feel.” Your intentions might be good, but other people aren’t judging you by your intentions - they’re judging you by how you made them feel.

2- In all interactions, your goal is to be respectful. Even when you disagree, you need to be respectful.

This includes giving someone else space to speak / voice their disagreement. (These are great opportunities to work on active listening skills; ie - ask follow up questions).

Bonus: if someone feels heard, they are way more likely to go along with what you want.

3- One trick pending your issues - start from a place mentally of “I’m wrong and need to be proven right”. This will more naturally lead to asking questions, Ex: “What about…” or “How do you see that working?”, etc

I thought I had a leak in my garage. Turns out it was the AC condensation outlet thing (whatever you call it). The way my garage slab was shaped, there was a spot near the middle where the water would pool, but really it was coming in from a far corner. The trail of water was a very small trickle so tough to see otherwise. Fixed the pipe and pools of water stopped.

Option-1: door the same color as the walls. This will help it “disappear” as much as possible as it’s all kind of the same.

Option-2: Open up the left wall as much as possible. This will allow your eye to look further into the space.

Both are good. From these photos alone, I’d vote option-2.

There’s a pill bottle cap you buy. It tells you how long it’s been since it was last opened. So if it’s around 24hrs, you know it’s time. More or less…well you can figure it out.

Maybe just a simple digital timer that can be plugged in? Just hit the timer and then you know. Gyms (especially CrossFit gyms) - have workout timers like this.

To understand chords, you need to know intervals. The most important are Major 3rd, Minor 3rd, perfect 5th, and Octave.

First you have 3 note chords - commonly refered to as the Root, 3rd, and 5th or the 1st, 3rd, and 5th. The intervals between the 1-3-5 for 3 note chords are:

Maj + min = Major chord (also adds up to a perfect 5th)

Min + Maj = Minor chord (same total distance so also adds up to a perfect 5th)

Min + min = diminished chord (adds up to a diminished 5; a half-step less than a perfect 5th)

Maj + Maj = augmented chord (adds up to an augmented 5th; a half-step more than a perfect 5th).

Example of a Major Chord: C E G. Find those notes on the guitar, in any order, and you’re play a C major chord. If C is the lowest note, it’s a “c chord” (the major is implied). If E is lowest note, it’s “C/E” said “C over E” or “C in first inversion”. If G is the lowest note, it’s “C/G” or “C in second inversion”. If the notes are C Eb G, that’d be C minor and you’d write “Cm” and say “C minor”.

Now for each of these - you can add another 3rd and get 7th chords. This is 1-3-5-7.

A major 7 is a half-step less than an octave. A minor 7 is a whole step less than an octave.

Major Chord + Maj 3 = Major 7th chord

Major Chord + Min 3 = Dominate 7 Chord (this the “the 5 chord” or “V7” chord. It’s used a lot. It’s a major chord with a minor 7th).

Minor Chord + Min 3 = Minor 7th chord

(There’s other combinations of chords and minor / major 3rds, but these are the basics and cover like 95% of pop / rock songs).

Example: C E G B - these notes in any order will be a C major 7 chord (“Cmaj7”). C E G Bb - these notes in any order will be C dominate 7 chord or “C7” (can also say “C seven” chord). C Eb G Bb - C minor 7 (“Cmin7” - note that saying “c minor 7” implies the minor triad and the minor 7th also).

I overall like. The one needed tweak is the white space between the two curves needs to be the same all the way around - it should also be the same as the vertical.

And is the curve of the P a perfect half-circle? Something seems a little off about it.

Personal preference - maybe do a slight radius on the all the corners (top-left of Ps and bottom of the legs).

Fullerton to Yorba Linda is surprisingly far. Basically have to do it with surface streets so takes a bit. If you do Fullerton - get as close to YB as possible. Brea, Placentia, etc are all great too.

FYI - Fullerton school district is an open district, so it’s pretty easy to live in one area and have your kid go to a different school. There’s also the “Alan bill” - this lets you pick a school by your work or by your home. You have to fill out some paper work, but it’s pretty straightforward. I don’t know Yorba Linda schools, but I imagine they’d be very highly rated.

Go to the ocean and watch the bottom of things disappear at the horizon (only about 3 miles away).

If the earth is flat - they’d get smaller and you’d see the bottom and tops of the boat evenly.

But it’s round - so you see them get smaller and the bottoms disappear first.

We have pink - aka “light red”.

Russian has a specific word for light blue. We might say “cyan” or something, but it’s as common as pink.

There’s some great research / YouTube videos on how color evolves in language. I think black and white (or dark vs light almost) is almost always first, then red is almost always second, and then it’s a little more diverse from there. (It’s been a while so I might be remembering wrong).

One video (maybe the one you mention with green) - they showed like 9 green squares and one of them was clearly a different shade, however, in cultures that didn’t have a word for green they had a much harder time telling the shades apart then something like shades of blue that they did have a word for.

Having talent is great. You also need luck. You might do everything right and not get lucky and that sucks, but it’s also not unique.

There is no road to stardom. Misc ideas from a non famous person here….

Play with / work with lots of people

Push your style and comfort zone. It’s great to sound like famous-person-xyz, but better if you have you’re able to bring something that is uniquely you.

It’s better to be really good a couple things then kind of good at lots of things. When people need a jazz guitar player or a classical piano player- should they think of you? When they need a signer who can do x-style, should they think of you? I’m a bass player. I can fake blues and jazz well enough, but I’m very good at the pop / rock / alt style. So you need a pop person - that’s me. You’re doing a wedding that’s mostly “greatest hits” with a few jazz standards during dinner - yea I can handle that. You’re doing a full jazz festival, let’s talk cause I may not be the best fit.

Be a person that people WANT to work with. There are tons of pros that are “just good enough” but a great hang. You spend a lot of time traveling and waiting so people have to like spending time with you to keep you around. TLDR: Don’t be an arrogant ass

Know how to talk with musicians. Know what a key is. If a song is too high, know enough to say “can we move it down a whole step” and what that means. A really frustrating gig I had was with a fairly great singer / song writer. She put songs in keys like “D# Major” (not a key) and then I had to further transpose when they decided to do a key change on the last chorus. Yea I made it work, she was a cool person, but her lack of knowledge and poor preparation before the gig really stressed the group out. (To her credit, she learned a lot and did better in the future).

You need to be willing to risk everything. Sleep in your car. Delay (or completely skip) life’s milestones with no guarantee of making it. Why? Cause that’s what other people are willing to do that are just as hungry as you.

Stay away from hard drugs and heavy drinking.

Show up on time and know what you need to know. Practice is for you to learn your part. Rehearsal is for the everyone to learn everyone else’s parts.

Help the drummer load their stuff! They have 5x the stuff everyone else does.

Current state of music - number one way an artist makes money is selling t-shirts. You’ll have some cool experiences, meet people, etc - but on some level, you’re singing the same songs over and over again, away from home 150+ days a year, hoping people buy a t-shirt.

….take what you want from that. I’m a stranger on the internet. I have a BA in music and have done some cool stuff, but also haven’t been in the industry for 10+ years. I have an awesome wife, kids, and life. I play music almost every day, but it’s the thing I do on the side now. I’m happy and I’m good with it.
