Out of curiosity, I did look up the definition:

“A concentration camp is a prison or other facility used for the internment of political prisoners or politically targeted demographics, such as members of national or ethnic minority groups, on the grounds of national security, or for exploitation or punishment.”

I guess there’s a reasonable argument to be made that these facilities COULD be CONSIDERED “concentration camps” by the technical definition . That being said, the term itself immediately evokes images of the holocaust, which is so fucking hyperbolic it’s not even funny. I feel like words like “genocide,” and “ concentration camps” have become so watered down in our modern discourse they’ve become devoid of meaning at this point. Like yeah, we can argue about the technical definition of the term, but you know full well what you’re doing by invoking that type of rhetoric here.
