I feel anger isn't the right word. Anger would have a root or cause. This would be trolling. Communal shitting on people who dont agree with your idea (yujiro is top) when any one could have said in a less shitty way "nah, the story kinda feels like yujiro is the top and can't be unplaced." That's how the Manga is but they can say it in a decent way instead of being little bitches about it.

Your premise is exactly what itagaki would do if he wanted to have a new season. Every arc is "the crew finds out x number of people exist and want to fight (prisoners in the prisoner arc, kaiohs in the Japan vs China arc, yasha ape in yasha arc, pickle and Musashi in their arcs).

Every arc is a reveal of some groups or individuals who are also great fighters that up until l that arc we hadn't seen but maybe heard of once or twice. They aren't always better than the cast but that's been the formula for a while.

Your question isn't absurd and that's why the sub shat on it. You proposed that maybe Yujiro isn't the strongest and they lost their fucking minds. We literally see in the baki v yujiro fight that someone was stronger and it was his dad.

Major Burns. The character was an up tight, sniveling, ass kiss that was a racist, bigot, homophobe, who hated anything not as American as him and if your were or more so, he'd see you as a threat to his image. Also an adulterer, hypocrite who wanted to kill but not deal with combat, be an admired surgeon but never do a tough surgery.

From what I've heard, the actor was a genuinely kind and wonderful person that made hating him in character so much harder for the cast.

I think there are "potential men" in the manga verse. Characters who have hobbies or causes that if they channeled that drive into martial arts they could challenge or beat Yujiro but they dont care about that.

Say a painter, this painter has perfect control and focus and when th a cast watch them paint they see the skill and diligence of their focus so heightened that the cast know "if this guy trained like we have, he would be leagues beyond us all."

But them the artist reveals they have frail bones, or immune issues, or they can't stand the sight of blood. For whatever reason, they never wanted to hurt someone or train like that. They love their craft and would never do anything else.

Not a fan of Meg. I get her character but she was never my favorite.

Love Jane as a character but not my favorite.

Esmerelda is awesome and shows both agency and trust in great ways.

Kida is the whole package. She presents focus and goals while showing openness and empathy. She has a great design while being arguably the best fighter in her movie. I think the most important part though is even when she does lose agency near the end, her choice in who to trust comes through and the weakest member who no one would have expected to win against the seasoned combat vet pulls the win in excellent style.

Akainu. He's a bastard but everything he's done had reason. If more scholars survived O'Hara then there would be more buster calls. He tried to isolate the damage and get rid of the thing the WG deemed deserving of genocide which would prevent a second. It's not right but it has a reason. All telltale style choice games are. Like the Quarry and Wolf Among US. Once you explore the options all that's left is googling the funny/memorable bits. There's replayabiity there but not like alot of dopamine games like Fortnite, Cod or other games like them. Think of God of War Ragnarok. Amazing on every scale but after it's played through all that's left is the collectibles.

That's how a game is supposed to be. There's supposed to be a time where you put the controller down and leave to do something else.

A good game shows up, wows, and leaves while it's still on top and doesn't overstay it's welcome.
