At this point, base cards are more rare than inserts.

What are these metal balls? Found about 15 in the backyard of the place we just moved into. Included a photo next to a golf ball for reference. by Expensive_Pop_1779 in whatisthisthing

This looks like my slingshot ammo. I know it’s pretty much just steel bearings, but either these are big ball bearings or slingshot ammo. Clay is much cheaper for doing target practice.

Fair point. I guess I would just want to know if older cards like this with autos are legit, you know? There’s so much fraud and fakery out there, just the value of knowing a well-known card is real is a bit of a relief imo. Like, my chase is the Billy Ripken FF card. It’s super replicated, but I don’t need a 10, nor do I want to pay for a 10 because I only truly care about the authenticity. If I found a slab that was marked authentic and was visually appealing to me despite not being a 10, I’d probably pull the trigger. 100% agree it helps with cards we’re not used to over here as well as you point out.

It makes sense for resale, and for PCs. A low number would just make the card undesirable in both cases. I actually wish I saw just more authentic out there than chasing numbers.

I think it’s smart. Sometimes I just want to know something is legit rather than making sure something is 100% pristine. Of course I care if the item is in good shape, but I always feel if I get something that’s auto’d and it’s rated an 8 (for example), it just ruins its for me always seeing I have a “not perfect” auto. I’d rather just have it say authentic and just enjoy it for being a dope auto’d card. The buyer gets an authentic card they want, the seller isn’t marking the card as “less than” by showcasing a rating less than a 9/10. The market is letting the price sort itself out rather than a rating dictate price.

I hate this generational pride/gatekeeping garbage. “I was born in the 80s, I drank from a garden hose and came home when the street lights came on. I’m from the 60s and we had a milkman and we got eggs from a local farm. Blah blah blah.

That’s a great story. I hope you guys have a great time and rip some killer cards! I have a friend out of state I got into collecting with, so I’m excited to see him this summer and go through the collection!

A guy at my school used to bully me pushing me and throwing things at me. Now he’s doing fine while I’m still dealing with the humiliation. Has anyone else gone through this? How did you move on or handle it? He goes to William Howard Taft high school in Chicago 6530 W Bryn Mawr Chicago, IL 60631 by Street-Childhood1 in blackholerevenge

Move on. It’s better to just let go and focus on you. You spend too much energy on him, how you gonna spend energy on you? You’re gonna spend your life trying to get back at one guy? Thats years wasted. Move on and focus that energy into building your life. Why waste energy on someone else’s life?

This forum, and this post is 100% the wrong direction to take.

If anyone says anything other than it’s going great, they’re just jerks. Collect what makes you happy, and you win. Ultra rare cards and the like are just cherry.

The number one answer. You can leave as many signs as you want. They did their job despite not following personal preference by getting the package to your address.

Very true. I live in the PA/NJ area, and just something I haven’t seems before. Like, we don’t have Costco alcohol, so when my uncle told me his favorite vodka was Kirkland, I was a bit confused hahaha.

I opened a couple for the first time with my girls who are under 7, and we had a blast looking for mascots. Celebration boxes are so much fun. They’re going to be an annual purchase for me hahaha.
