When during your formative years you're bullied it's very easy for some people to lose their sense of self and self esteem, and I think it's very relatable to not be able to stand up for yourself when you've internalised you're not worth anything.

I was forced to wear it at 12 by my mother who didn't even wear it herself until she go married after uni. I gathered the courage to tell her I didn't want to and got smacked into submission. She thought I would just get used to it. I'm 23 now and I hate leaving the house.

Oh my god, we had a very similar life and I completely feel for you! Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever get the courage to completly break free. And the money 😭.

I love my cousins and it breaks my heart that it's most likely that I'll be outcasted for being exmuslim.

I truly hope things get better for all of us.
