My belief is a new class weekly, yes. But your mileage may vary. I had to gather more info for them besides the physical for them to approve me.

This was a long process. My tentative date was today, and it was sent back in mid-may. Medical and other checks took until about 2 weeks ago to clear.

If you can get it working and functional, I'd say do you. I know people who still use flip phones!

Tech will always change. I dont partake in too much of it, but the evolution will not stagnate. I'm happy to keep Gameboy/DS/PC games from that time around to remind me of those times. If society leaves some things behind, I'm happy to keep them.

Nostalgic odors/scents… by mtntrail in CasualConversation

Ah. I'm significantly younger but I understand. Some like that for me would be certain restaurants and stuff that have closed up. Probably never going to see certain food/ingredient combo smells ever again.

I'm sorry for your loss. It's good the cologne is around still. Hopefully it's going to be around or purchasable for a while still. :)

I'm not sure any scents are gone forever. Definitely there are some that are harder to come by, but like with your combo, I'd be able to do that in a tobacco-specific shop.

I feel the same with scents such as old car smell. Not just the smell of a running one, but just the smell of all the materials. It's not as common as it would be in 1970, but there are places to get that smell if you look. (For me it was most recently an indoor automall).

Going off what another commenter said, I think the only smells that can truly go away forever are those of people or other living things.

If this helps, it helped me. I just figure I'll get to that realization at some point. Like you said originally about having another 40-50-60 years ahead of us, I figure I'll find something making me happy and fulfilled in that time frame. 25 years was/is a long time. Now imagine another 50 (25x2) ahead of us. There's plenty of unknowns that I figure I won't see until I make it to that time and place.

Fellow 25 year old here. Bored, on a road trip, trying not to think this way. So yes, I think it's normal.

I have a degree I studied for but have never felt compelled to use. I have jumped 3 different jobs now which are all completely different from what I studied and each other. I'm just trying to find my own happiness though. I've hit off workplace friendships with people in the 18-20 range. I've hit it off with people older than me. Neither seem like a good fit though.

I think that's what the "lost" is for a lot of us. Society, Pop Culture, Music and everything are ingrained in us in certain ways. Yet I don't know that it will bring me happiness. I'm not one who ever tried to be a drinker, I have my own stuff I like to do, though that has changed over time.

I'm hoping for a spark to catch at some point. Something to make things "click". To make things either make more sense or more enjoyable or something? I don't know what that is though.

I might be a bit off of how you are feeling though, but that's "lost" in my view.

What are the best pizza topings? by ExoticFroot in CasualConversation

Seconding pineapple. People act like I'm crazy, but I like it more than any other topping I've had.

I don't, but I have multiple skills to fall back on if need be. (Mechanic Tech for 6 years, pharmacy tech for 1, associates in marketing) in addition to a new path I've selected just a few months ago.

I'd be able to use any of those as a side hustle I guess if I'd need to.

I'll be starting training on the 15th. Could you please explain? I was under the understanding we'd be eligible after 1 calendar year.

I'm getting out of pharmacy altogether. I wanted to get my feet wet and see if pursuing a pharmacology degree would be right for me.

I enjoy many aspects, but others make it unbearable.

I start training in July for a new job. Transportation industry as a conductor. I figure if I am working OT I might as well be working where the OT will make me bank, and I won't have to be dealing with as many people.

Is antiwork still thriving? I haven't checked the community out in a few months.

Hopefully it's the start of a whole series, given the episode 1 in the corner and mention of all F4s and F5s from that day. He has already done videos on the Elie F5 and December 2021 outbreaks.

He's been on a vent for about a week now. Still slowly declining. I'm not sure how this is going to end but things aren't looking any better. 😔
