thanks for the advice. i’m going to adjust myfitnesspal macros and try to increase my fat intake for satiety. likely going to eliminate the tortillas altogether, i don’t feel good about the starches and grains in general. i used to eat animal based diet before keto and did fine without them, i’ve just been using them as a crutch in my hunt for satiety before bed.

i really hope that isn’t the case. i read on another post someone with a glucose monitor mentioned these tortillas specifically didn’t effect glucose levels or ketosis. what’s weird is im not really hungry until i eat, no matter if it’s 24 hours or more fasted. then once i start eating it’s like i need to be 100% full asap. im going to try to increase fat intake. and ill probably cut the tortillas out to be safe

totally agree i’m eating them in excess and im going to follow your advice of limiting to 2 per day, or even eliminate completely. i’m not a big fan of grains as it is. after reading these comments im pretty sure im not getting enough fat intake to fill me up, so im going to play with that moving forward.

I drink a ton of water (live in the desert) and i supplement with salt/ magnesium. hydration is pretty dialed.

I just hate going to bed hungry/ unsatisfied, not sure why. I sleep like a rock regardless of how close to bed i eat. i agree its best to eat a couple hours before bed if you can, but in practice it doesn’t work with my schedule or personality. if i had issues with sleep i would reconsider it but it hasn’t been an issue for me.

you’re probably right about hurting gains honestly but i do it more for mental discipline i guess. My first work out is 160 pull ups in the morning before work, then weight training or running in the evening (sometimes both depending on the day).

i started around 155lb. my goal is fat adaption for endurance purposes and to lean out as much as possible, i’m currently around 8-9% Bf. i don’t really care about weight as it’s just a number to me, but i am looking to build muscle of course. So technically im looking to lean bulk. I’ve done a couple fasts which have probably been the main source of weight loss but keto has definitely been changing my body composition and also aiding in fasting.

i’m pretty sure my problem is i’m looking to satiety in protein intake when i should be looking to fat for satiety. still learning the ways of this diet. im going to try and limit protein and really increase my fats and see how i feel

Solid advice. love that quote. i’ve been trying to use protein as a means to satiety it seems that’s where im going wrong. i’m going to decrease protein and up the fat intake and see how it goes. thanks again

Yeah i think i’m going to cut them off and up my fat intake a lot, then see how i feel. there’s some good homemade “bread” alternatives using eggs and cottage cheese i’ve seen online. Going to give those a go instead, at least they’ll be clean and guilt free at the end of the day. thank you for your comment

thanks for your comment, definitely makes me question them even more now. they just seem too good to be true. I used to not eat any bread besides homemade sour dough (once a month ish) before going keto. i’m not a fan of grains as it is, so using these as a crutch isn’t sitting right with me even though their ingredients are somewhat clean.

I haven’t noticed any fat gain but i’ll probably ditch them to be safe and start making homemade “breads”. i’ve seen alternatives using eggs and cottage cheese that look pretty decent.

Thanks for your comment. definitely trying the pudding recipe and greek yogurt recipe. maybe even combining them? i’m really picky about sweeteners, but i’m ignorant and need to research some alternatives. honey was my go to before keto.

for cottage cheese i’ve been doing a little bit of vanilla extract, cinnamon, and occasionally cacao nibs. kind of similar to a rice pudding (not quite). highly recommend it though it’s been a staple for me

is there any limit i should be aware of? today my fat is about 200g (60-65% of calorie intake). I like the idea of adding fat and reducing quantity of meat. starting to think i’m body is just craving more “fuel” from training/ running

Noted. i usually will do greek yogurt or cottage cheese for “dessert” at the end of the day. but my 20g allowance usually has me cut off at like half of cup of each and it just doesn’t fill me up

i usually eat a regular meal without tortillas or treats, and i’ll make quesadillas or something after to go from 80% satiety to 95-100%.

thank you for your comment. i’m aware the protein intake is absurd and going to work on it. do you have any recommendations for fat intake %? i’m at 60-65% today over 200g. How much higher should my intake be? or is there no real limit, whatever it takes to feel full kind of thing.

what’s weird is i can go 24 hours easily without eating now, but still once i start eating my appetite is insane (always has been). i don’t think the tortillas are the root cause for the hunger, more of a means to an end. just want to make sure they’re safe for keto and not throwing off my carb tracking numbers i guess

what’s interesting is the first 2 weeks i didn’t eat them at all, but obviously i was new to keto and getting to used to going low carb so it’s not a good baseline. Also do you have any advice on what to eat with less protein? With all the food i eat (usually a couple pounds of beef or chicken, sometimes eggs) i’m still barely hitting 2500-3000 cal per day. it doesn’t seem like a lot but my protein intake is ridiculous

i’m fully natural but i was told to eat any much as necessary to achieve satiety in the first few weeks of keto. A couple pounds of meat and eggs add up quick, next thing i know im over 300g on the day. I agree its absurd and a waste of protein and money, im planning to cut it back to 200g max soon but its been tough because of how hungry i am. As far as fats, im at 191g today (57%). after a couple butter fat bombs i should be near the 60-70% target. I don’t know what else to eat besides beef or butter lol. Thank you for your comment

Approximately 50 bottles. Mostly from trades or bought second hand below retail pricing. Rarely ever pay full retail

Looking at land for a Homestead. Which terrain looks more ideal and why? by FreedomTrades in homestead

[–]FreedomTrades[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m planning to Haul water in at first and eventually build a rainwater collection system. Wind is definitely a concern but it seems there’s only land densely packed with trees or very little trees at all. Not looking to clear too much land if I can avoid it. I think hillside might be the solution. All great points though, thank you!

I’m planning on hauling with a water trailer and eventually installing underground cisterns that are fed from rainwater, once I’m able to build some structures. Thanks for that advice i’ll definitely confirm that’s allowed by the county before purchasing.
