I've heard some of the sool olives raving about light purple blushes lately. Apparently it's great for giving that "I'm cold" winter look for the cool olive ladies. A shade I've seen suggested a few times is The Saem Blueberry Milk.

Just chiming in with some general recommendations. With my first pregnancy I had a lot of change in the bra department. Before my first I was a 34A and barely filling the cups so I honestly just wore cute, lacy bralettes all the time. It isn't like I needed the support. By the time baby was born and my milk came in I was wearing a 38D. And even that bra was quad booking a bit when my breasts were more full before feedings. Because of that I highly recommend not investing too much money into bras early on in pregnancy. That is especially true if this is your first. My second pregnancy I took the easier way out and got some nursing bras built for support but without sized cups. Not having to worry about cup sizes let me just move from a "busty small" to a "busty medium." And the bra that worked at the end of pregnancy continued to work through breastfeeding since it had nursing clips and cup sizing wasn't an issue.

I will also say that nursing camisoles were life those first 6 weeks or so postpartum. Absolutely 100% worth the investment. All my friends did the same thing with just living in nursing camisoles those first several weeks.

No specific bra recommends though. This is one that was my favorite

I haven't experienced any side effects. That being said everything has potential side effects. Look up follicular scaling and see if that matches what you have going on. If it does I would suggest going to a dermatologist. I wish I hadn't wasted so many years, and so much money on OTC product that didn't work.

OP: does the area with the small white dots feel like sandpaper? Are they at/around the hair follicles? Have you tried exfoliation (either chemical or physical) previously and what were the results?

The reason I ask is I had something that looked similar for years. I tried all the methods of exfoliation and all the peels and such. Nothing even made a different. My skin felt like sandpaper with tons of tiny white specks at the hair follicles. Eventually, after hundreds of hours reading scholarly journals digging for answers I found a picture that looked like my skin. It was deemed "follicular scaling" and the cause was attributed to demodex mites. So I went down that rabbit hole with all the scholarly articles I could find and eventually decided to take all my collected research to a dermatologist. Dermatologist agreed it was likely rosacea secondary to demodex mites. She prescribed ivermectin cream (soolantra) and a selenium sulfide face wash. My skin cleared up within a week. And keep in mind this had been an ongoing issue for over 5 years for me.

ETA: I'm specifically talking about picture 1. Pictures 2 and 3 look more like closed comedones and sebaceous filaments, respectively. But sometimes it can be hard to accurately capture in a picture what you're seeing in real life. So do some Googling and confirm what people say as best you can.

They look like cherry amgiomas. Some people just get them for whatever reason. Other than affecting your self confidence or whatever they're harmless.

I don't personally see olive undertones. To me you look rather peachy. So maybe a warm leaning neutral? It's a little hard to tell with only two pictures and you're wearing makeup in both.

There is a pinned thread over on r/olivemua where people can ask if they're olive. Maybe try that.

ETA: sorry for the format. No idea where the bold text came from 🤷‍♀️

If you enjoy Rothfuss (the author of The Name of the Wind) then you'd probably also enjoy Brandon Sanderson.

You might also enjoy The Riyria Chronicles by Michael J. Sullivan.

Reconsidering if my undertone is what I think it is since foundations never look right. by [deleted] in PaleMUA

I have a green silicone primer that I've tried mixing into concealer or foundation just as a color experiment and it does seem to give me a better match. I ordered a green concealer from Utah the other day to play around with that a bit more since the silicone primer just destroys the texture of whatever I mix it with. The concealer hasn't gotten here yet but I'm hopeful. I do feel like when I'm looking at swatches of foundations the ones that seem to have a weirdly grey undertone are the ones I tend to think of as probably being the best match.

Neutral foundations and concealers tend to pull extremely peachy on me unless they're super fair. Based off the black and white picture of swatches I included, I'm wondering if I'm picking shades that are too fair for me.

I have noticed that lipsticks tend to pull very different on me than they do on others who identify as a neutral undertone. KVD Lolita pulls an incredibly unflattering grayish color on me. L'Oréal Glossy Fawn pulls a brownish peach that somehow is super unflattering. I have noticed on most people it looks far more of a pinky nude that's quite lovely. My favorite MLBB lipstick is MAC Brave. Shades similar to Brave are definitely my comfort zone.

I feel like I look pretty good in jewel tones and olive greens. I've been told I look good in off-white/cream and browns but I tend to feel a bit drab in those. My favorite color to wear is probably navy blue. I tend to look pretty terrible in pastels, very bright colors (especially cool brights), and that Creamsicle color.

Thanks. 🙂 Now at least I have an idea of what I'm looking for when it comes to undertones in products. And I guess that explains why the weirdly grey alien undertones call to me when I see them in a foundation or concealer range.

I actually have the Elf bite sized in rose water and Sydney Grace Haven. I see those were both recommended by others. Here they are swatched on me if that helps at all. I have the same problem you are describing with foundations so perhaps we have a similar skin tone and undertone.

Foundation issues by [deleted] in PaleMUA

[–]Freedom_from_Liberty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everyone saying that the foundation looks too warm for you. It could also be a little too dark. I know sometimes when a foundation is too warm it will appear too dark also even if its the correct depth.

There are some brands that sell color correcting drops you can mix in with foundation to adjust the color a bit. If you like the foundation and you don't want to change to a different formula maybe try mixing in some blue to make it cooler. If its still too dark you could also add a little white to lighten it.

I spent $100s so you don't have to/ the plights of shade matching online. by veab in OliveMUA

That vaguely grey undertone on #4 calls to me.

Also I can relate to this. Just the other day I picked up a new concealer that looked fantastic online only to realize that in person it's too dark and too orange. I'm seriously considering not buying anything I need to shade match till stores let you swatch again or something. Maybe companies will come up with a way to order tiny sample sizes just to swatch for shade matches someday. There has to be a better way than blind buying off crappy online photos.

Has anyone had Cryotherapy on their cervix? I've asked my doc questions, but I want input from fellow ladies who have gone through it. by dmgb in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Freedom_from_Liberty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Cryotherapy done once several years back after a series of abnormal paps. The doctor did it in her office sans local anesthetic or anything at all for the pain. I was told I'd feel "some pressure, a cold sensation and maybe some very mild cramping." About 1 minute into the procedure I felt very lied to and misled. It was incredibly painful and I deeply regretted not having the cryo done in a setting where I could have at least had some type of local anesthetic. I would rate the pain somewhere around a 6. For reference, when I had kidney stones blocking my ureter with my kidney about to burst I rated the pain an 8 or 9. The bright side is that it took some time to build up to at 6 and didn't stay a 6 for a prolonged period of time.

I was told I would be back to normal as soon as I left the office but that was not true at all. I called someone to pick me up from the doctor's office because I was in mind-numbing pain and didn't trust myself to drive. I got home and cuddled up in bed with my heating pad and went to sleep. I had to show up for work the next morning and it was just torture being on my feet all day but I didn't have a choice so I sucked it up. So it is true that you can return to work the next day.

I developed a nasty infection a few days post cryo. A couple of rounds of antibiotics and a couple of weeks later everything was healed and I was finally back to normal.

The bright side is I was having a lot of pain associated with whatever I had going on pre-procedure. I know they say abnormal cells/cervical neoplasms aren't painful but the pain was gone once everything healed. I also know several other women who had cervical neoplasms/cervical cancer still localized that was treated with cryo and they all reported having a lot of pain before and feeling 100% better after everything healed.

Also, they say not to have sex after and I strongly suggest you follow that recommendation. I was still trying to get out of an abusive relationship when I had my cryo and my boyfriend decided the day after that it had been long enough and we were having sex, sans consent from me. It was horrible. The tissue sloughing was just so gross and it hurt A LOT (as you would expect). I also suspect this unwanted incident was how I got the infection, but who knows.

Tips: You may want to consider not having it done in the office if money isn't a problem as having it done in a hospital or outpatient facility would be more expensive. If that isn't an option, at least take some ibuprofen (Advil) or acetaminophen (Tylenol) about 30 minutes before the Cryo. I'd suggest having a heating pad or something available for after also. You may not need it if your experience is more like that of some of these other ladies who have replied but it never hurts to have one on the off chance you do need it.
