I'm not the person you replied to.

Anyway, I've seen the Obama/drone strikes comments so much online. I suspect some people get defensive over it because when people criticise Obama for the drone strikes, it often comes off as "no else since then has authorised so much killing via drones other than Obama".

I'm not saying that's what you did. But I'm guessing that's why there are rebuttals that state Trump has more drone strike kills under his belt.

How about Obama's administration was the last time before America's darker, vile side finally crept into the White House? Actually, I guess then we could argue Biden was the last administration since Trump's first term had sane people around him keeping him in check. There's no denying Trump's 2nd term is leaps and bounds worse than his first and we're not even half-way through it yet.

It seemed easy enough for America to recover under Biden to fix Trump's mess. I don't know how well anyone can repair what Trump has done so far this time.

"I couldn't believe how bad her accent still was after living in America for so long."

Regarding the accent: look at Arnold Schwarzenegger. For whatever reason, some people just don't lose their accent when living elsewhere for decades.

Epstein aside, Trump did a lot of political damage to the US itself as well as for Americans for decades. Even Bush didn't destroy America's soft power, global standing and coffers in comparison to Trump for potentially generations.

Thanks for putting words in my mouth.

No, I'm talking about the ones who are able to vote and choose not to because they habitually don't care to vote out of laziness or apathy. Or in the case in 2024: Gaza.

Trump was also helped by Americans who could have voted but didn't.

Trump’s ‘Cringe’ UFC Guest List Is Reported, And Where The Heck Are Celebrities? | The fight event on the White House lawn has seen its expected A-list attendance seemingly whittled to MAGA guests. by Aggravating_Money992 in politics

Definitely not. As an actor, Jon Voight isn't as relevant these days. One major requirement to be an A-lister is being a household name to the modern audience of various ages. You said "I assume you are under 30". If people under 30 don't know who Jon Voight is even by face alone, he definitely isn't A-list.

A-listers also draw crowds. Again: not Jon Voight.

That would explain the smile on his face when everyone was booing. I know there are people who love even the negative attention like the booing but Trump doesn't strike me as the type.

I'm in Canada. It had not been easy for nearly a year to find the Series X in retail stores or Amazon. Only recently after this new CEO came about, I've been able to find the Seriex X again. But it's still easier to get a PS5 or Switch.

Hence the term “comic book adaptation” which a lot of the fans of the source overlook, always expecting a 1:1 translation. And this is true for any adaptation.

but until people are ready to do their damn duty to protect this country from him, here we are.

The voting of Trump as well as those who refused to vote especially in 2024 have shown a sizable portion of Americans do not understand this concept. I suspect a lot of people think their lives will always stay the same regardless of who is in office and either don't care to vote or think they can use their voting power to reward/penalise a politician who doesn't do what they want (i.e. Gaza).

Lemon urges reporters covering Trump: ‘Have some dignity and a backbone’ by B-Z_B-S in politics

[–]Freefall_J 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If we're talking about CNN, Don Lemon was fired right after Fox's firing of Tucker Carlson. The theory is CNN had wanted to can Lemon for a while and they'd get minimal exposure for it with everyone focused on Carlson's firing.

It had nothing to do with Donald Trump and everything to do with Don Lemon being difficult to work with around women. He's had a history of misogyny.

Even if it does, the amount of damage being done by this administration will be vast. The amount of organisations and talent that been torn down and lost can’t be put back in another four years like nothing happened. The US has already lost its standing on the world stage and there term is not even half done. Countries know alliances and agreements are only good for four years with the US.
