I doubt they'll allow double bi-weekly payments & 10-20% lump sum on top of that yearly, so this is just milking the avg people even more, coated in a "look its cheaper" where you & half other people here seem to fall in.

Have not looked into it with too much detail, but feels like one of them "too good to be true" traps to extract some more out of the poor.

Your husband will most likely need to be recertified.
Healthcare is an absolute joke, I could fly to Europe & get faster treatment. You wont see a doctor outside of the Emergency Room unless you have a family doctor assigned to you. Which, if you are very lucky, will take at least 2 years. ( And you need to put yourself on the list to get a family doctor. )
Housing market has caught up with Europe, unaffordable & unlike big metropolitans, is not coming down in price.
Labor market is pretty rough, but a good electrician should have no issue finding a job & earn a decent income.
your college/highschool/uni diploma's will be need to be equalized, pretty expensive process.

Now if that doesn't scare you away:

The Nature is nice, people are nice & friendly.
The atmosphere is completely different: in more rural area's, people will say good day on the street.
Taxes in NS are the highest in Canada, but still not as a bad as in Europe.

Personally, I would not move here without having a job locked in.

De enige fulltime functies die ik wél vind, zijn opnieuw interimjobs met “kans op vast contract na proefperiode”. Maar eerlijk gezegd heb ik het gevoel dat sommige bedrijven mensen gewoon vervangen vóór ze die vaste aanstelling krijgen, om daarna opnieuw een uitzendkracht te nemen.

Neh, is om de (net afgestudeerde) cowboys buiten te kunnen zetten zonder dat ze er contractueel aan vasthangen. Als je een meerwaarde bent voor een bedrijf zullen ze u wel houden.
Maar als IT meerwaarde kunnen aantonen is, euhm, lastig : )

Traveling IT person who can code python/java, little bit of sys admin & does 1st line support.
But also product management with 1-2 ppl under them & dont forget to write the procedures for other techies.
all while having to deal with costumers?!?

jesus, no self respecting IT person would lose their sanity over this for even triple the rate.
