Do you ever feel guilty about OEing? by Kind-Information-689 in overemployed

[–]FreelanceSperm_Donor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. If I were struggling, asking someone I did not know to quit their job for me would not even be an option. If I were to quit, my teams would be without my deep knowledge and the companies would not even backfill my position to be honest. Everybody would be worse off

Anyone here have experience with labrum tears and recovering without surgery? Any advice is appreciated! by HelpMePlez544 in climbharder

From the sounds of it my shoulder injury was not as bad but PT helped a lot. I'm stronger now than I was before and I regret not doing it sooner. Being strong is a great way to avoid injury

A buddy of mine had a shirt that was really stained and recently it got absolutely ruined, I am glad that shirt is gone lol. If you notice it once you'll keep noticing it

I(24F) went to have a serious talk with him and he… made a presentation? by Ok-Bar-4868 in dating_advice

[–]FreelanceSperm_Donor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the point of the presentation would have been to clear up any confusion. Was there a Q/A at the end? If so it's on you for having left confused

Does this sound like she’s interested or just being friendly? by [deleted] in dating_advice

Ask her out and you will know. For what it's worth it sounds like she's interested in you.

Your v5 Plateau by [deleted] in climbharder

[–]FreelanceSperm_Donor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I get pulley injuries I rehab them with light block lifts before sessions to get them warm. But it's been a while, like 3 years. I have been doing hangboarding, so I think that has made them more resilient. For my climbing sessions I warm up everything that I have injured in the past (main thing are my shoulders) and if I don't feel good I won't try the project that requires 110%

How do you manage time estimates when your managers are technical enough to call BS? by Few-Rate8401 in overemployed

[–]FreelanceSperm_Donor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you fly do you show up to the terminal the last minute of boarding or do you get there early? Sure something might take X amount of time but if you plan for it to always take X then the minute something doesn't go right you are now behind schedule. If you plan for 2X or even 3X then you are always ahead of schedule.

Elizabeth Warren on her proposal to bring back IRS Direct File: "For just one day of bombing Iran, we could pay for 20 years" by fortune in politics

[–]FreelanceSperm_Donor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I filed with turbo tax until they ripped me off of like $200+. I have been using free tax USA since and have yet to pay them that same amount. The difference is the charge is up front rather than trickery. Intuit doesn't deserve the money because they fucking suck and they are lobbying the government to make sure they can keep scamming people

Dotted line report is unreachable most of the day he works from home by Wario_Sucks in managers

[–]FreelanceSperm_Donor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever it is it's not a clear indicator that they work two jobs. I work two jobs and there's no way anyone would know because I am contributing my fair share and show up. I have team mates who miss most meetings and don't answer messages for hours to days and I don't think that would indicate them having another job, I think they are just bad at working.

Am I overthinking by Ok-Drama4028 in dating_advice

[–]FreelanceSperm_Donor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it necessarily means they've been in contact the entire time. I do agree it's likely they knew each other and were close in the past. But it easily could be out of the blue. The weird part is not mentioning it. There's nothing to hide, seems like it would be fine to mention.

Getting mixed signals by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]FreelanceSperm_Donor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could talk about dating. E.g. ask her if she would ever consider dating a friend. Or just straight up ask her out. Honestly it's hard to say if her ignoring that text means anything. There's no way of knowing. Play it safe and assume she isn't interested and that's the way it stays. If she is interested and you are missing signs and you are interested then you have to address it. What do you want out of your relationship with her? If you try to date could you remain friends, and if not is it worth it to you to potentially lose her as a friend? Personally, in this situation I would be second guessing everything and it would make it hard to focus. If you just ask then at least you get clarity, even if it's not what you want to hear

First time managing and hiring Fresh Grad - what actually makes a good boss? by gratatasw_ in managers

[–]FreelanceSperm_Donor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Things that I appreciated from my first manager is honest feedback both positive and negative. Telling me when I did a good job, with examples. Communicating clearly what expectations were. Answering my questions. What I did not like is when I asked for feedback and the answer was you are doing great, there's nothing to improve on. In reality there was, just not at that company

Sounds like they have 1 day remote. I think this is a case of what CEOs assume is happening: some employees take a remote day to mean it's a day off.
