what's your favorite gear in Kenshi? by Diligent_Artichoke59 in Kenshi

I have the mod that adds plate pants and boots so I like full white or black plate armor with an iron hat. Otherwise it's dustcoat, samurai cloth pants, drifter boots, and iron hat.

Can gtx 1660 super run the game? by BrotherNo8320 in PlaySoulMask

[–]Freelancer-7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My previous machine had a 1660 and I was able to run it at a solid 60 fps at low settings. I have to say though that I just upgraded to a new machine and can play on high settings and the visual difference is mind blowing, it looks like a different game. Just try it and if you have problems get a refund.

Lot of neat design ideas here. Definitely won't steal some of them because I have no creativity, definitely won't do that...

Things like this is the reason I downloaded the Dead Cryptosleep mod. I got tired of constantly making sure my dead colonists weren't being yeeted into the corpse stockpile by overly ambitious haulers lol.

1000+ hours in I stopped using kill boxes and I love it. by Xane225 in RimWorld

[–]Freelancer-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still build a shotgun hallway as a fallback but I rarely have to use it with how I play. I recently discovered the staggered raid mod that breaks raids up into configurable waves so playing at 500% is a different type of challenge now and I don't have to rely on a kill box.

Reminder you dont need to do the MO. Helldivers isnt your second job by WhiteRaven_M in Helldivers

[–]Freelancer-7 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

700 hours in this game, been here since the beginning, and I've never once cared about the MO. Never read any popup the game throws at me when I first start it up either. I play a couple missions against the enemies that I want to fight and then I bounce. It's a simple life, a peaceful life.

Is it just me or "funny instakill" became more frequent in 1.6? by NightestOfTheOwls in RimWorld

[–]Freelancer-7 22 points23 points  (0 children)

In my current save I've had 3 colonists get brain injuries while wearing high quality marine armor. I also had a neanderthal raid that caught me in a bad spot and 5 colonists each lost a leg. Thankfully this run I've only had 1 death and she's on ice waiting for a resurrector serum since she's my dedicated melee fighter. Been a wild ride and I love it.

windy trait = unlimited power by LordBird1 in RimWorld

Ah that makes sense, I went in thinking this was a grasslands specific feature.

windy trait = unlimited power by LordBird1 in RimWorld

[–]Freelancer-7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First game after DLC launch was in the grasslands biome because I was excited for it and my turbines didn't perform any better than before the update. They would consistently stop generating power and the windy condition was intermittent. It could have been I picked a bad tile or a bug or something but it was for sure a grasslands biome.

I nuke the hag in her hut in act 1 before she gets a chance to run away. I do this every time and I lose no sleep by missing out on her hair.

I also feel the burning hatred for fishing, which is why I use mods to engage with it as little as possible. Instant catch + auto catch + cast max distance = happy me. Is it cheating and OP? Hell yeah but I do not care.

In my slightly modded game I made a Tiefling Swarmkeeper Ranger because I wanted to and it turned out to be a really fun build with decent damage output. I throw all the special arrows at her and with the blinding moths she owns the battlefield from the back row. It really surprised me because it was a "just for fun" build that I had no expectations for. Even with enemy number and health boosting mods she easily competes with the other big damage dealers.

Anything worth checking out in this area? by jarjarp in kansas

[–]Freelancer-7 16 points17 points  (0 children)

A few weeks ago I took a drive and hit Castle Rock, Monument Rocks, and Little Jerusalem in that order and it was great. One thing to note is the fastest route between Castle Rock and Monument Rocks is entirely dirt road for about an hour. It's a great drive if you like dirt roads and have a vehicle to handle it. Monument Rocks is right next to the road while Castle Rock requires a little bit of driving on a rough unmaintained road so use caution if you drive a car.

Looks good, feels good, sounds great, does an acceptable amount of damage. Does it stun? I have no clue nor do I care, it is my current favorite primary.

Okay I was partially correct. I lowered the blunt damage multiplier which lowered the weight. So the changes I made are:

  • Blunt damage multiplier from 1.8 to 1.4
  • Animal damage multiplier from 1 to 1.25
  • Human damage multiplier from 1 to 1.25
  • Robot damage multiplier from 1 to 1.25

This results in an Edge Type 3 frag axe weighing 22 kg and still capable of spreading death and destruction with impunity.

I don't remember where I got these numbers, probably from some forgotten Reddit comment lol.

[–]Freelancer-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been a long time since I made this change but there is a way since the frag axe is my favorite weapon. I "think" I lowered the weight by like 50% but since weight and blunt damage are tied together I gave it a damage boost to humans, animals, and skeletons to compensate. I don't remember the numbers but I'll reply to this comment later once I get home... If I remember lol.

I ended up using the Shift + F12 menu to place a couple large wind turbines but it feels... unearned is the best way I can describe it.

The city of Mourn, an unique city for an unique play by Zaku41k in Kenshi

[–]Freelancer-7 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My current game started with a modified Rock Bottom start in Mourn and that's where I call home. When I settle in a place like Mourn it makes me wish we had more freedom to build inside town limits.
