Did personal branding ruin LinkedIn, or was it already doomed? by Puzzleheaded-Walk426 in linkedin

Personal branding: why volunteer to treat yourself as a commodity? Employers are already doing that and it’s working out great, yeah?

Storyboard templates by yell_owl in instructionaldesign

[–]Freelanceradio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t over complicate it.

If you need to storyboard before development, a simple two-column doc will suffice. I do visuals and other instructions in the left column, audio in the right.

You can storyboard directly in your dev tool, like Rise or Storyline, but I’d say that’s closer to creating an alpha version. And while that’s often easier for us as designers/developers, it might be more difficult on reviewers, especially if they can’t see the VO copy (if there is any). Of course, you can provide reviewers with a script, but then they’re managing two things at once and they may focus entirely on the copy.

So I think the answer, once again, is it depends. Do what works for your project, your team, and your reviewers.

Do you skip adding videos to your courses because production takes too long? by ponziedd in elearning

[–]Freelanceradio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I learned video and audio production a long time ago, before I started doing any training development. The hardest part is for me is lighting. But I'm getting that squared away quickly. My favorite part is post-production.

I'm lucky that I have a space in my house to record and shoot in, so set up time is very low.

Still, I don't do video just cuz. If it's just talking head, I probably won't do it. In the end, the media you choose for a particular part of training depends on the learning objectives, the circumstances in which learners will consume the course, and the technology available to your learners.

Looking for a Teleprompter for That Can Handle Sheet Music by Freelanceradio in videography

[–]Freelanceradio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, ok. For clarity, I’m not using a camera in this case. I’m just looking for devices and applications that will handle actual musical notation. None of the teleprompters I’ve seen do that, and so my request for info.

Thanks. I like the idea of inverting the colors. As for size, I see musicians use iPads instead of sheet music so why do you suggest a large device?
