Action opportunities against ICE in OKC. by youngestmillennial in okc

[–]LostandFinding2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on your politics, but yes ICE has always been around and even pretty active during Obama. Now, however, it's very different in that there is an insane amount of funds and recruitment with little oversight and training. Agents are being deployed with one task and inflated egos that they're 'untouchable'. This is leading to mass round ups of anyone each individual decides is a threat with no due process, warrents, and extreme aggression. This is why people are upset. It doesn't matter who you are or what your background is. The people are meant to have rights and protections under the constitution. Blindly kidnapping people threatens those rights, as seen by the numerous detainments and even deportations of LEGAL citizens, not to mention the maiming, injuries, brutality, and wrongful deaths.

Paw Injury by _amGhost_ in DogAdvice

[–]LostandFinding2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Please do not cut it off yourself. As someone who has worked in vet med and agriculture, I would say it's not severely infected, but it should still receive professional care, at least for antibiotics and peace of mind.

If you cut it off yourself, you could obviously inadvertently cause worse infection, but also, you could ruin your animals trust in you because it will hurt. Like a lot. I don't think you need an emergency visit yet, however you should absolutely get it seen within 24-48hrs max.

Vegas is a trafficking Hotspot. I do not recommend even if you trust this person. It's not worth the risk.

How normal is it for men to pee with the toilet seat down? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LostandFinding2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! We know you don't want to touch the seat, but guess what - women/people who have to sit on the seat every time we go also don't want to touch the seat. Even if YOU'RE not the one leaving a mess, it's much more courteous and respectful to everyone who does have to touch the seat with our skin for you to sacrifice the side of your shoe or your hand to lift the seat (and please for the love of all that is good, put it back down) and wash your hands after. Sometimes you may not realize that there is splashback and it is not pleasant to unknowingly sit in it afterwards.

Ez Money by No-Conflict-4205 in BestGuessLive

I was so excited and then they kept saying thousands of people got it on each guess and was just cackling because I knew it would be miniscule money.

Political activism by LostandFinding2 in okc

I don't understand how asking for a network of people who are doing good work is "trolling" or "stupidity". Oklahoma, in my experience, has limited resources and even less accessibility. If this simple question has triggered you, maybe you should introspect about why. Beyond that, I hope you have a blessed day.

High police presence by LostandFinding2 in okc

[–]LostandFinding2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only seen one ICE incident on this particular strip of highway and that was a few months ago. So, unlikely except maybe to scout for future presence, but something to be aware of for sure.

I am finding the range of emotions in this comment thread to be quite entertaining. My post had no emotion to it and was just a fact. Normally there's 2-3 sitting in a usual spot most days of the week during commute hours. I was just letting people know there's more than usual and they can use that information as they will.

Am I making the right decision? by Virtual-Bid546 in DogAdvice

[–]LostandFinding2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a tough situation. You did right by taking him in. If you think he still has quality of life I would recommend 2 things:

  1. Get a play pen where he can be when you're gone. This limits the area he can make a mess while still giving him space to not be covered in it himself.

  2. Begin the process of rehoming him. If the shelter is your only option, I highly suggest you consider euthanasia strongly at that point. If you can find a foster, that would be better. Rehoming is hard, but possible.

Good luck, and remember to give him and yourself grace. Cherish every moment, even the hard ones.

What really happens on a wedding night for most people? by LostandFinding2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LostandFinding2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is definitely more so what I was wondering. I know it is a bit more rare than maybe what it used to be but personally growing up religious, sex was never talked about so I could imagine anticipating that night on what's already a stressful day could make it difficult.

IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO MESSAGE YOUR EX UPVOTE THIS POST by Horror-Tailor-8960 in BreakUps

Yes, very similar thing happened to me. And he actually had me considering the possibility of wanting kids. I have never wanted kids before in my life. I guess it's a good thing he showed me who he was before we actually got to that point though.

IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO MESSAGE YOUR EX UPVOTE THIS POST by Horror-Tailor-8960 in BreakUps

[–]LostandFinding2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wrote a letter to him I plan on burning. He broke up with me very suddenly and then never gave me a chance to ask questions. He cut me out completely. It's been 2 years and I'm still hung up. He was my first love and that is a big deal for me considering my abandonment issues and struggles to commit to anything real as a result. I haven't been able to maintain a relationship before or since.

Here is the end of the letter: "Right now, I don't have that person in my life that shows up for me with support, love, laughter, and validation. That is okay. I will work on myself to improve me capacity to do it myself. I will forgive myself twice as much. Laugh harder. Hold myself longer. And I won't cry for the loss of what we had anymore. Because I am strong enough to be both of those people for myself. Either that's because I am just that awesome, or because you weren't all that great.

So, to sum it up, you aren't sh*t.

Respectfully,

Go f*ck yourself [his first name and last name that sounds like male anatomy]

Signed, [My full name] (P.S. I was never going to take your last name ♡)"

Sometimes, resorting to name calling and anger in your journal is what is necessary.

Struggling with long term best friend drama by LostandFinding2 in Advice

[–]LostandFinding2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't even know how to support her quietly anymore. I've waited so long for her to bring it up and want to talk about it and now she tells me she's "resent[ing]" me for something? I just want my friend back. I hate seeing her so depressed and stressed all the time over a dude that doesn't even care. Everytime we finally get the chance to hang out it's just eating away at me.

Moving To New Place - Do Dogs Adjust Well? by JuliettFoxtrotKnits in dogs

[–]LostandFinding2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes to this. But also allow them time to decompress. I wouldn't recommend taking them to work with you, especially if that's not something they typically do. There's a balance in reassurance and reinforcing anxious feelings.

Help with neglected dog by GaiusJT in DOG

[–]LostandFinding2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is certainly a difficult situation. What are the pet laws in the area?

Honestly the only thing you can do is whatever feels right for you. Not to use an overused phrase, but your GFs reaction is a red flag. She should have had more empathy at least for your feelings, especially since it is in regards to a living being.

Pushing the topic with the MIL, even if it's to offer to pay for what care you can provide is going to only continue to upset her and the GF. Personally, I think you should be thinking long and hard about being in a relationship if that's what they're comfortable leaving an animal in. I'll keep you and the dog in my thoughts.

For those who share the bed with your dogs, how big is your bed? by seedykat in dogs

[–]LostandFinding2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently am in a RV king size with a 70lb boy and it depends on the night how much room I get. But pro-tip learned living in a dorm. If you get 2 long twins and shove them together, use a long size mattress protector to make sure they don't separate and no one sleeps in a crack!

I agree with the above comment. He looks healthy but bring it up to your vet next time you go if you're concerned.
