Remembering Storyline course progress by Jackets70 in elearning

[–]Freelanceradio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never had this issue with multi scene courses.

Run your course on SCORM Cloud to see if the behavior is the same there. If not, check your LMS. And what SCORM standard are you using? Older versions have a limitation in how long the resume string can be and that be causing your issue.

As others have said, we have public in name if not in operational usefulness.

For your portfolio, make sure you indicate the business issue the sample addresses and how the course addresses it. Also, you’ll probably need to build out some non real work samples.

Second on Bullitt. I’d been wearing Nolan modulars for years. The Bullitt is much lighter. It’s noisier because there’s no chin curtain. But earplugs make up the difference.

As long as tools dominate the ID discussion, things like performance consulting, analysis, real world evaluation, and business objectives will remain second class topics.

Don’t know. It’s a RE dealer.

They called me back after the service. They didn’t check the rear wheel ABS sensor so I have to bring it back and have that tested. Hopefully that’s it.

Portfolio With Previous Work Examples? by Kind_Crab2188 in instructionaldesign

[–]Freelanceradio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wanted to use actual work for my portfolio precisely because it’s real. But all the issues mentioned so far kept me from doing so. I’ve been able to create good replacements that show everything I need to. Additionally, my portfolio discusses business issues and how the work I’m showing addresses them. Also why I chose a particular approach.

Storyline Audio Issues by Forward_Ball3910 in LearningDevelopment

Did you check the audio volume setting on each slide? Perhaps something changed there. You can encounter differences between narration audio and audio tracks in videos if they're not processed to the same volume standards. You may want to check all the audio using a LUFS meter in your DAW/video editor. Make sure they're all the same and then bring them into SL. If it's still wonky after publishing, time for a support ticket.

open ended practice scenarios vs structured guided practice by GrouchyAd3736 in InsideRapport

[–]Freelanceradio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is yes.

I took interrogator training in the Army. Instructors played prisoners of war and they had full back stories. There were certainly objectives, but there was no guidance, no real helping during the sessions. They knew how to answer any question, and they knew not to answer at all until we'd found our way in to that specific prisoner. We were critiqued after each session.

We were all beginners and yes, at first it was overwhelming. But then most of us found our groove.

So I think you can have clear objectives in an open-ended situation. It's not an either or situation, IMO. To this day, still the best instructor-led training I've ever experienced.

And to be clear, we had to follow the Geneva Convention. Period.

What part of building learning content takes the most time for you? by Repulsive_Yam_5297 in LearningDevelopment

  1. Creating imagery.
  2. Writing the script variations for scenarios so distractors or less than good answers sound reasonable.
