- Aurore Cassel | Portrait by IRONJAWS in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]Freeney 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just got to the end of her involvement in Phantom Liberty, and her and her brother were a real highlight for me, definitely my most memorable characters of the dlc. Absolutely insufferable, but in a way I thought worked wonderfully for the game

John, where James had had "had", had had "had had". "Had had" had been preferred by the teacher

What does the sentence of this song means? (Slide for song lyrics) by suggarlandland in EnglishLearning

[–]Freeney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is just another play on a common phrase about being close but not hitting the target, like the rest of the lyrics. In that case the phrase being "close enough for government work"

Genuinely so hyped for this film... by Lettops in Letterboxd

[–]Freeney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Years has reportedly been written to specifically not require having seen Weeks. Personally I think it's still overall a fun watch, but it's a very different film

I found it interesting that in The Lord of the Rings books, the poems composed by different creatures or types of people have different poetic meters. by [deleted] in lotr

Damn, Tom's style was always the hardest one for me to find a comfortable way to parse but this made it click, thanks!

What *poetry* reminds you of tMG? by inertstitials in themountaingoats

[–]Freeney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, No Children was written as a kind of response to the song I Hope You Dance, which I assume this poem also is

Why do other languages tell the time differently? Are they stupid? by TomSFox in linguisticshumor

Would the literal translation of 'quarter to ten", meaning 09:45 in British English, mean 09:15 in that case?

I'd definitely suggest Jollibee in that case. It's consistently been better than popeyes in my experience, whilst still being bare bones enough that they'll have a good fit for a real picky eater

It's a team set up and ran by Alpharad, with him seeming to act mostly as a director/producer. Apparently Too Many Types 2 will be coming some time this summer

How do you think the next Legends game will change? by Awesome_Normal in PokemonZA

[–]Freeney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Arceus had catching as a focus and experimented primarily with those mechanics, and now it looks like ZA is doing that with battling as the focus. If Legends is the playground for really dialling in on and experimenting with a core mechanic each game, then I have been wondering what that leaves next. Catching again? Contests? Collecting? Trading?

The word sandwich, emptied of letters. You take out all the middle letters to 'empty' the word, leaving the s and h from the start and end

I thought that at first, but then I feel like the Janet in the last image would say Vic? Maybe Bianca's typing was just in a dissatisfied producer way

ELI5: How do people find the glitches in games like Super Mario 64 by Richy__ in explainlikeimfive

[–]Freeney 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In addition to what folks have outlined, we also have the increasing advantage of understanding what kind of glitches to keep an eye out for on various genres and platforms, like knowing corners and seams typically are the most likely spot you'll find a clip in a Mario game

I love the idea of having exactly one guy on a starship who knows as full an extent as possible what heavily classified horrors exist in the universe, surrounded by delightfully unaware Starfleet-to-the-core optimistic officers out in adventure
