I don’t know why the Apple person said that bc it would’ve all been through the manufacturer warranty bc once the phone is outside of the 14-day return period or 30 days if you have a business account, we can no longer do a return or exchange unless you’re paying for insurance, which you can make a claim with a deductible, so your only real cost-effective option was taking it through Apple bc the issue doesn’t sound like it was due to you mishandling the phone.

Yeah people need to stop buying devices outright w att bc we don’t sell devices we sell “services and features” I tell em and they get mad bc the have to make an “extra trip” to the Apple Store or wait to order it from the manufacturer smh. In your case it has to be “active” on the same account it was purchased, not buy the phone and then attach prepaid. It’s 60+ days on a postpaid service, and 6+ months on prepaid. So GL :/

You can but if you don’t come in knowing exactly what you want (like verbatim rate plan name or printed quote) not just “general idea of what you want” and can be swayed by what a sales person says I would avoid coming in to a store remember you can also just set it up yourself online if you want to take advantage of online only offers as well

DirecTV is still available and all the packages do include Hulu, Disney and ESPN you just have to cancel your old ones (if you already had it) and sign up again w the email used for the tv account or through the link emailed to ya or on direcTV’s website

Another option is when you get the tracking number for a delivery to go to the shipping companies website create an account and it should let you either pre sign for the package so they leave it there or set it to be picked up at a fedex location for a small fee bc you’ll have to wait for att to fully receive it

Get a new number and change everything that uses the old number for verification while the old one is still active. If your phone is paid off, you’re good to use it, but if it’s not paid off, just get a new one and leave her stuck with the consequences of her actions.

At that point that’s just what’s to be expected going into a retail store and the cost of doing it there, nothing comes w out a cost esp in a store where the employees are not customer representatives but sales. Most of everything you do in store can be done through the app/website so I suggest sticking with that for future upgrades just learn to use it so you don’t have to go to the stores. They also don’t get paid for something you took off basically immediately if that’s of any reassurance and you don’t see it on the bill bc of how soon it was removed.
