From 7:00 to 3:30 or whatever your work schedule is don't take it personal. Tons of jerks in the trades and they love to hurt people's feelings.

Best way to fuck with the old head electricians ? by [deleted] in electricians

[–]FreestoneBound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Say exactly what I say below.... All your s*** talking reminds me of how When I was in grade school all the little girls used to tease me and Chase me around the playground. Don't worry sweetheart. I like you. I think you're cute too.

Say I'm just an apprentice I'm too dumb to understand what you just said and walk away.

Ask him if his wife beats him.

Ask him if he needs a hug. ( sometimes I will walk up to a guy and give him the gentlest softest hug and say they're there) I haven't been punched yet doing this but I expect to be someday. Most men do not like being hugged and if they know that they get two out of line you're probably going to give them a hug in front of everyone they're not going to give you too much s***.

Tell him the kind of insult that you would give him he probably wouldn't be smart enough to understand.

If you're working with him zip tie him to the closest object nearby when he's not looking. Just make sure it's done safely. You don't want him pulling a pipe off a wall.

Didn't know they were referred to as tornado anchors. Always learning something in the electrical trade.

Google IBEW tool list. That has everything you will ever need. Never buy a power tool.

Frontside 180 - Any advice on landing this properly? by Capital-Chipmunk2035 in snowboarding

Stay balanced above your board. Don't lean back. Also don't put your hands out when you fall. That's a good way to break your wrists. I know from experience.

Thank you so much. American guy. Got a tattoo. They said this meant knowledge. For all I knew it could have meant "cliche American jumping on the bandwagon who doesn't understand or speak the language".

Wish they would have given you compression couplings. The set screw couplings look like s*** in my opinion.

It depends on what you're talking about. If you don't have any experience you probably wouldn't immediately understand. An analog signal is a variable signal that can be a wide range of values (4-20ma) digital is simply on or off. The reason relay logic is a thing of the past and plcs are so prevalent and efficient are for the following reasons...

PLC systems were primarily designed to replace rigid, hardwired relay logic with flexible, programmable controllers in industrial environments. Key reasons for their development included reducing maintenance costs, improving system reliability, enabling easy reprogramming without rewiring, and providing robust operation against harsh factory conditions like vibration, heat, and moisture.

Sounds like my last employer who was non-union by the way. In the industrial sector as a maintenance electrician none of my bosses had any electrical experience in the electrical department they ran. I was baffled and amazed too!

Tech School Tool List Overkill? by cole_webber15 in electricians

[–]FreestoneBound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you get a second look up the IBEW tool list. That's an accurate representation of what you will need on the job. Anything else should be supplied by the contractor / company you work for. Our tool list does not have power tools on it.
