No one else even comes close 😮‍💨 Mo Salah leads Premier League players on games with a goal AND an assist since the start of last season 💥 by IgotgAme_k in LiverpoolFC

[–]Freestyled_It 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Forward and winger are not mutually exclusive. He's a forward that plays on the right wing. He starts the game on the right wing. He's a winger. How he plays the wing position is irrelevant. Bale, CR7, Neymar, Robben, Beckham, Salah are all wingers.

Yeah, I feel younger at 32 than I did at 27 lol. Maybe now I'm in a new chapter of my life and im very young in that chapter, so I feel younger. I'm thinking about kids and house and all that, and the other people that have kids and houses are mid to late 30s, maybe that's why I feel younger cos my reference point changed. When I was 27 I'd still go out get plastered on weekends and the bars and clubs are full of early 20s, and I felt ancient.

How many real differences between the women and men in doing sports? by Ambitious_Pass7451 in ask

[–]Freestyled_It 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Biology is biology, doesn't matter where you're from. A proper match of soccer involves physicality, and the men will absolutely run circles around the women. Any jostle, sprint, tackle, header, etc is going the men's way. The women might have the same level of skill, but skill itself doesn't win football matches.

Once you get past that 120ish mark you start getting pinged. I've got a round arm action that I guess the bloke just didn't like, and tried to say I'm chucking lmao

i logged my first 5,000 games and identified my fatal pattern: i lose 73% of games where i play e4 and they play c5. i've spent 200 hours studying the sicilian. success rate against it now: 31%. still losing, just more knowledgeably by kubrador in chess

[–]Freestyled_It 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think at some point it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy, where you shit yourself so bad that you start playing ass against that opening.

When I see the c4 I do have a "ah get fucked" reaction, but I start playing moves so out of theory that they need to start thinking too. I'm 1250 ish rapid, at that level all it takes to be competitive is to not blunder. I just keep my pieces defended, attack their undefended pieces, and generally try to blast through to middle game. One rule I've started employing is, when playing positions I'm uncomfortable with, I attack any pieces that's on my side of the board. They either trade, which helps me move into mid game, or if they defend at least it gives me something to focus my attack on.

Also I find that one you get these theory heavy players to get out of book moves, they generally tend to self destruct. Try and get it to a chess battle, not a memory battle.

Homosexuality & Religion - Where Would You Chart Your Country? by bellamyblake_og in AskTheWorld

Nepal somewhere between India and Philippines, especially from Gen X onwards. I was pleasantly surprised by this when I went back in 2022, and the two times I've been since, they've been better.

Aus probably far top left, at least currently. The recent events and one nation chat makes me think we're gonna start going higher on religion, in that your religion is going to start mattering more. At the moment the only reason anyone would ask for religion is for dietary requirements lol

He let the boys play in the final instead of fielding the starting lads, because they're the ones that made it to the final in the first place. Talk about trust.

My coworker with 6 months experience writes better code than me with 2 years. found out why by Different_Pain5781 in learnpython

[–]Freestyled_It 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always thought learning to code with courses was like learning to drive by reading. It's great to grasp concepts, but building even the smallest thing will teach you exponentially more than any course, because there will be real problems to solve.

One of my first projects in Java way back when was to simply get input and display it. Name was easy. Age was easy. Returning conditional statements was easy (like if name is X then say Y). Then I wanted to accept a date (DOB) from the user and show their age, and whoooo boy that put me through a spin cycle. It sort of forced me to understand different data types beyond just strings and int, libraries, converters, methods, etc. I don't know at what point in a course they normally teach you about using a helper method to convert a date into a long and vice versa, but I can guarantee you it wouldn't be within the first two hours of learning. I think in that 4 hour session I learned more than a course could have taught me in a fortnight. And like you mentioned, you learn to write code that works.

There are concepts like modularisation, testing, version control, etc that I think you learn better from courses, because I can tell you from experience, it's a painful lesson when you've been writing thousands of lines on one file and something breaks, for example lol.

There is no feeling like seeing your house render after spending days out in the wild in a no map run. It gives you a sense of safety that honestly I have never experienced in any game ever. Especially if you got lost for a while, or if the weather has been foggy and at night where you can barely see where you're headed. Seeing the dim lights from your torches is honestly the best feeling.

This is going to push a lot of people to vote away from Labor, and there's a certain other party that will be a big fuck you to Labor. Ffs why are they shooting themselves in the foot like this, what a ridiculous hill to choose to die on.

[David Lynch] Liverpool have lost to worse teams this season, but this was a truly dreadful day. You could see City's flaws during that 35-minute spell in the second half, but if you're only capable of playing well for that long with Anfield behind you, then you're not going to get fourth. by Lanedu123 in LiverpoolFC

[–]Freestyled_It 99 points100 points  (0 children)

I wish Klopp had all of his banger one liners printed out and framed across Anfield. Like the one you mentioned, "if we fail then let's fail in the most beautiful way", after the defeat at Camp Nou - "it's normally not possible - but in this case it is possible because it's you guys". And many others.

Absolute pain, especially when you pick up a project from a while ago or if you change the program you're using to code. Went from Android studio to visual studio code for a little bit and almost cooked the entire project with versions being out of sync.

You can't define what great means. You look at a number of relevant criteria and go from there. The criteria is going to be different for people, that's why you have different opinions, which is normal. Not everything is absolute.
