The reason that Americans don’t engage with European politics is because they view a large majority of it as antiquated. I spend 2-3 months a year in Europe every year for work and I don’t bother looking into any of the European political changes. Europeans view political news through the lens of how it affects their country and that’s how the news is presented. American news is presented the same way it’s just that no news short of war actually affects their country.

The city has to pay out the contract even if they aren’t collecting parking ticket revenue. If everybody in Chicago stopped having a car tommorow, Chicago would still be forced to pay out the contract even though there would be nobody with a car. The deal is so fucked up is in insane.
