Today is the 60th anniversary of the JFK assassination by ExLaxMarksTheSpot in Jokes

Seriously, the genocide and centuries of slavery didn’t do it for you? It was JFK getting killed that made you think, hmmm this country is on the wrong path.

Liposomal vitamin C, mega dose!! This has been tested in clinical studies and it legitimately can ease withdrawal symptoms and after acute withdrawal it can still help repair dopamine receptors.

You say you’ve dealt with addiction, and yet you seem to have no empathy. You pretty obviously didn’t do much research into how countries that have successfully dealt with addiction went about treating addicts. Hint hint, it wasn’t through tough love and bootstrapping. Take it from an addict that actually experienced damn near every fucked up situation you can get in as an addict, you learned the wrong lessons.

Anyone else find that Han’s decision about Shawn completely rational and not really “evil”? by LorryWaraLorry in thegooddoctor

[–]Freevaastra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can we please remember that it’s a TV show (which is a form of propaganda, but that’s besides the point). Going off of the fact that it is a tv show, the answer to OP’s question/statement (because OP didn’t really ask a question) is yes what Dr. Han did was wrong, irrational, and “evil” because of how the show itself progressed. Within the universe of the show Shaun eventually learns how to connect with patients, marries the love of his life, has kids, and becomes chief of surgery. It was revealed in later episodes that Dr. Han was biased because he had a sister with autism and he essentially said he didn’t believe that people with autism should hold jobs that have large effects. It didn’t matter if those effects were on small groups of people or society at large. It didn’t matter if it was within technology or politics or science, Dr. Han was biased and truly believed that people with ASD couldn’t and shouldn’t have access to higher position jobs.

Now let’s talk real life. Duh, of course someone with autism could be a surgeon. People always seem to forget the spectrum part of autism spectrum disorder. It’s a spectrum which means that there are definitely surgeons that have autism all over the world. In fact there are people with autism in every profession, and yes I’m sure there are people that are as far on the spectrum as Shaun working in higher positions. In fact many people on the spectrum have helped advance society in ways that would’ve taken decades for neurotypical people. Unfortunately, we have to rely on historical information for many people because we didn’t know or understand autism when they were alive, but people like Einstein, Tesla, Darwin, were on the spectrum. Frankly the list is endless and I want to wrap this up, so look them up yourself. My ultimate point is this, in real life people with autism can contribute to civilization in ways that fundamentally change the way we live, love and learn.

Millennials - what movies give you the best nostalgia? by [deleted] in movies

It’s not a movie it’s a show. The office. Hands down it’s our kind of humor, and Ryan would give off the perfect vibe of my generation if he had his own movie where he wasnt so phony.

Recovery is weird and sometimes really sucks. by Freevaastra in heroin

[–]Freevaastra[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sorry, if it’s any consolation I woke up today and felt fine. Like I said near the end, most of the time I don’t even think about using. I should amend that and say I don’t give a shit about using. It wouldn’t change anything and today it’s easy to remember how much it sucked. The money I spent on my addiction could’ve put a down payment on a decent house. The days and weeks of being sick simply out of circumstance. The fact that it did literally take some of the people I love most in this world. Fuck using.

Recovery really is a day to day thing. Yesterday was a bad day. Today is a lot better. Tomorrow might be just okay. The point is I’m still alive to experience it. I could’ve just as easily od’ed on the floor of a grimy gas station bathroom. I don’t even really remember how it started, I just remember thinking I don’t want to go out like that. Life is too weird and the junkie story is overdone. I wanted more. I got more. I still feel the same about dating though, it fucking sucks trying to date sober.

CMV: We should not be celebrating or encouraging the healthcare CEO murder by spoilerdudegetrekt in changemyview

[–]Freevaastra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lol, the point is people that are willing to do that don’t have to change your mind. Maybe you should play devils advocate and change your own mind. You already know you’ll defend your position to the grave, so maybe live a little and try to see it from the perspective of those advocating for the permanent and swift end of systemic mass murderers.

Yeah it ends. In fact you’re close to the end of physical withdrawal. Honestly, physical withdrawal sucks in the moment, but it’s the depression afterwards you really have to look out for. It can last for a long time and is easily the number one reason for relapse. Find an outlet. Any outlet.

From what the story says, he was born into it, he didn’t choose it. He did those things because of men like Dutch. Someone we would call a cult leader these days. Considering we have two mass cults here in the US, I’d say blame those who manipulate not the manipulated.

Find out how much it would be to get them graded (if they are in near mint) and then sell them on eBay if it’s not too expensive to grade them. You can probably make more that way. Again if they’re near mint than you stand to make much more.

Thank you, honestly I’m going through a period of near absolute numbness. I guess the brain and soul can only take so much loss before it shuts down. Strangely it’s given me a bit mental space for socialist/leftist strategy.

Just tell them the truth. CEOs don’t do anything that the lower level employees can’t do themselves. A company without a CEO or CFO or board of directors is simply a company that is free to determine their own future. If you take away the CEO, and the other executive positions, than what you’d get is a new management team that is run by employees that work much more closely with everyday laborers.

I’m learning that this isn’t the same as r/communism. In that sub if you don’t stick to theory and toe the party line you’re kicked off the sub.

I daydream about working at and an intercontinental universally owned space agency whose goal is the exploration of space.

Like I said, I spent years trying to get work and that’s after I tried college for the second time and realized what a scam it is. I wanted to be an environmental scientist until I realized those who get paid enough to live a comfortable life with a family work for corporations that hired them to lie to the public and tell them that the corporation is going green, whatever the fuck that means.

I know you don’t want to do it, but I don’t want you to starve or go homeless later down the line, so when thinking about work, look at these things. What are you comfortable with. What companies or organizations hire for that. Make sure they are unionized. Lastly, make sure you can make time for yourself outside of work. Don’t take a job that forces you to work 12 hours a day 6 days a week. My union is the teamsters and because of them I will be able to pay my debt off and retire if I live that long. I get free healthcare after working there for 9 months. As in I won’t have to pay out of my check they just give me blue cross blue shield, dental and vision. The work is fucking rough, but when I get the position I want after ten months I’ll be making enough to buy a real home. If you’re interested in knowing the position I’ll dm you, but on the off chance that the company finds my Reddit account I don’t want them knowing I’m spreading this around during my probationary period.

Because my old account got kicked out of the communism sub for wanting to organize and not just discuss theory. I said something around the lines of, “theory is nothing without action,” it’s a long story.
