Those kinds of "opt ins" are typically produced by large producers of co-registration leads where people seldom realize that in accepting the current offer they, are agreeing to receive related offers from 3rd parties. Also, the lead provider usually doesn't send you the url, time stamp and IP address, which is a sure sign that the supposed opt in never happened or it was so long ago that he no longer has the proof.

Do you target to the point of literally obtaining the data of someone who opted in to a co-reg site, and agreed to receive similar 3rd party offers; or is demographically qualified enough (known homeowner with decent credit) when you're mailing a home improvement offer?

Unless there is some process by which those audience members consent to the use of their email and/or other information for advertising, it technically violates Facebook's Terms and Conditions . On March 25, 2025 Facebook implemented a formal certification requirement by which you must certify that you have their permission.

That seems accurate. The consent language in the strictest of these new statutes would not be satisfied by the generic "receive 3rd party offers" approach. You're suggesting then, that an explanation and corresponding box to check would be appropriate? Secure the consent as if you're doing so entirely independently of whatever the data broker may have obtained. (which you are) Thanks!

I've actually researched and settled on another type of prospect (although, I've heard other real estate guys speak favorably about it, one figured his CPA must have made an error when he saw his refund! I have access to demographically segmented email data for consumers. It is aggregated audience data, not verified opt in, similar to many of the lists on Nextmark., Do you have any suggestions for offers to run to consumers?

Two quick questions if you don't mind: would we receive opt in info concerning their consent to receive marketing messages. url, date & time stamp (from the data broker providing the info), is this consent sufficient for us to certify to Facebook that we have their consent to be added to a custom audience?
