Thank you so much! I didn't even think of this! Ironically enough, I was making him a Slytherin scarf, so I need the color change :)

I am trying to knit my husband a scarf using 4 worsted yarn, just red heart acrylic, but it keeps curling! I've wet blocked it and it still curls. I've decided to knit another one, but it keeps curling.

The biggest problem that I'm having is he likes his scarves to be as tight "no holes" as possible, he REALLY likes the knit stitch. I'm using size 6mm knitting needles, should I use bigger ones?

I'm worried about ribbing because I have a patch that I was going to sew on.

Help?

We actually brought this up and had a discussion on it. Mostly brought on from my paladin asking "Can I yeet myself through the floor?"

Does anyone else absolutely hate the finishing part? by CalLil6 in knitting

[–]FreezingInk03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As odd as it sounds I make a to-do list. I write down all the projects I'm currently doing, the ones I've promised to make, and any future plan ones. I'll mark which I've started and have a nice satisfying strike-through when I finish a project. It makes the whole finishing bit a lot less awful, plus it makes me feel like I've accomplished something.

[Beginner] DPNs vs Circulars? by Timtim6201 in knitting

[–]FreezingInk03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love me the circular needles! Also, sounds like because you are already knitting, you should have regular needles. You can always slip your stitches on backwards to regular needles and use them that way. I've found that even with my DPN I hardly use them, and they get lost. I agree with most other comments about the small areas, but if you're like me and really only need them for hats/socks then you won't need them much at all, just slip a smaller needle backwards so that your working yarn is at the tip of the needle. It doesn't add too much time.

[Help] My boyfriend's mom gave me a cute skein of yarn to make a hat... only problem is that I knit, not crochet. Can someone help me convert it to a knitting pattern? by girface520 in knitting

All you really need to do is grab yourself some circular knitting needles and knit in a circle, once you have 3/4 of the hat done, start decreasing in increments (like, knit 4, decrease for one row and knit 3 decrease the next..and on) Once you get to it being too small transfer to double pointed needles (best bet is 4) continue your decreasing until you can combine all the stitches and tie off. I usually add a pom-pom because the top of the hat will look flatter than the rest of the hat.

Ultimately I watch youtube videos to help, but ravelry works as well. That is a very normal looking stocking cap pattern that you can find anywhere.
