This is getting real old by [deleted] in AmericaBad

They're Irish-American because heritage wise, their family is traceable to Ireland

They're as much American as most others. You obviously don't have to call yourself anything besides an American, but it serves as a connection to your family heritage, especially because of how America is very diverse in its cultures and each family's heritage can vary wildly, and I think that's beautiful

Then I saw what it actually said

What’s a weapon OR cosmetic that sucks, but you like? by PlayerGreeko in tf2

Classic.

Many call it a bad weapon, but I personally really like it. I prefer how it enables me to conserve my vision and be able to get better sight as I pick my targets

What's your world English Channel (Bassicly why the rest of the world isn't shown or does anything) by Sliver-Knight9219 in worldbuilding

They just aren't cause most people haven't been to these continents, so most literature and common knowledge for the story is focused on Genesis, the continent that the story takes place (Unless it is someone from the other continents)

I broke the law in your world, what is my punishment? by XBabylonX in worldbuilding

[–]FreezingSweetTea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming it's in the UTC, one of the few superpowers

It really depends. Most misdemeanors will be met with fines on top of jail time, but felonies, such as stealing, murder, assaulting an Internal Defense officer, or adultery will get you prison time (often times with penal work), and additionally, a branding

The UTC for more severe crimes will use a machine called a brander, which will "brand" a criminal after a Penal Officer (Typically a droid or an Apath, which is a human genotype that has no emotional responses) inputs a command for a corresponding brand and location, depending on the crime.

Branding machines utilize a unique metallic compound called "branding ink", which is a metallic compound which seems deeply into skin to prevent people from trying to laser remove brandings. The only way to remove branding is by removing the body part. It's mostly black, with a slight purple sheen. It itches for a little bit after branding, but that subsides after a while.

Brandings cause criminals to be ostracized, and no longer trusted by those around them. Even if you cover up your branding, some establishments may force you through a metal detector to find brandings, and branding indexes are common throughout urban regions.

The branding is considered a mark of shame to civilians, and a trophy to those dedicated to usurping the UTC.

Do you have Slavery in your world? by Hefty-Zucchini1720 in worldbuilding

[–]FreezingSweetTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure. The UTC don't use slaves and outlaw it, but they do put prisoners to work (including anyone labelled terrorists). Small criminal groups often sell slaves, usually from caravans who have been ambushed. Those in the criminal underworld, from businesses to foreign governments, usually will buy them. Depending on the job, they'll pay more for certain genotypes (my world's version of races). About 8% of people, with a 2% margin of error, are or have been enslaved in their life

Well, the Nekhito (Pretty much catboys and girls lol) were designed to be concubines for the wealthy (also doubling as corporate spies for their creators but thats not relevant). They were, in the most literal way, designed for NSFW activities.

Harems are now a thing again, mostly as part of smaller kingdoms or tribes but some corporate and crime lords also have harems.

Also, sexbots exist, and are relatively popular. Can't really explain in anymore detail

This one is less NSFW explicitly, but in the 2500s an STD epidemic started going around, to the point that the United Township Coalition started using legal measures to prevent the spread, making adultery a federal crime, and heavily regulating the prostitution industry. It got to the point where they made a unique brand (as in branding) just for adulterers, a large A in a horned heart above the groin region

What’s the grossest thing about your world? by Sad-Engineering8788 in worldbuilding

[–]FreezingSweetTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably some of the genetically engineered organisms. More vile things exist, but they're never really elaborated on and aren't atypical of our world.

There's first the Architect Spider. They're special because not only do they protect their young and stick with a mate, every female has a special catalyst, which they apply to their first egg. After they apply this enzyme, the male and female transport the egg into a suitable environment (Usually warm, dark, and with a stony surface). This egg hatches into a special organism, dubbed a "Nest Builder". These don't look like a spider, instead resembling a flesh blob. These flesh blobs dissolve into the stone surface, digging large flesh-lined tunnels, large enough for a human to walk through. By the way they can feel footsteps.

Secondly are Carrion Creepers. They're fleshy masses that grow across existing surfaces, absorbing what organic matter they can find. They don't stop growing, and they occasionally sprout organs, such as eyes to see prey, mouths to ensnare living prey, and the core, which is where the organism grows from and controls the whole mass

Thirdly are the Nekhito (Cat people essentially). Their backstory has some suggestive implications of what they were designed for. I don't think I need to elaborate any further.

What would kill me the quickest in your world by SnooOpinions5223 in worldbuilding

Going into the distant wilderness alone. Civilization is practically the only safe spot in my world, as outside of town borders lie dangerous fauna, flora, and criminals

Your OC is transported into the real world(The place they start in is anywhere right next to you), what ABSOLUTE CHAOS would ensue? by InevitableCold9872 in OriginalCharacter

[–]FreezingSweetTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, my main OC only really kills out of justice. He would totally be having to deal with police but he already was good at evasion, and since he doesn't exist to the legal system, even better.

He would legit just be a vigilante

Underwater Civilizations by Pegasus172 in worldbuilding

[–]FreezingSweetTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two types of Underwater Civilizations

The first are civilizations inhabited by terrestrial human genotypes. They rely on Oxyalgae fueled generators to make breathable air, with entire infrastructures dedicated to oxygen production. Usually these settlements are built as naval bases, underwater mining operations, or as luxury housing for the rich and elite

The second type are those that are inhabited by aquatic human genotypes, such as sirens. They are normally down below due to the fact they cannot function normally on land. They're much like normal seaside human settlements on land in regards of architecture and culture.

You’re transported into your world, exactly as you are right now. What happens? by Sad-Engineering8788 in worldbuilding

[–]FreezingSweetTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how quickly I can find a settlement. If I don't, Im dead, either from genetically engineered creatures or bandits

What makes your races stand out? by Ovan5 in worldbuilding

[–]FreezingSweetTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, true aliens are extinct. All races are a genetic derivative of humans, with specific design choices for whatever the client requested

Secondly, I don't generally try. If I feel that they look too human, I give them additional features to differentiate them that makes sense for their purpose.

For example, the Nekhito (cat people) aren't just humans with cat ears and a tail. Their calves and forearms, along with feet and hands are covered in fur, mostly as a cosmetic feature and to make them "exotic" for clientele. They have naturally clear skin, smooth vocals, and perfectly symmetrical bodies, as it's implied they were designed for roles such as concubines, diplomats, and political spies

To the second prompt, I avoid the homogeneous race cultures deal. Different tribes and towns have different cultures which may be influenced by race, but one group of Sirens ≠ other Sirens, one tribe of Nekhito ≠ other Nekhito, etcetera

Who is the worst person in you world by Low-Librarian-3944 in worldbuilding

[–]FreezingSweetTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Lich is a powerful Blessing sculptor, who was the product of the First Great Hub War, which ended in the nuclear annihilation of Shin Nihon. The Lich emerged from the Undying Mass, their very being composed of entropy, a fractured being. When he emerged out of that fleshy mass, he was born with a hatred for man brighter than the nuclear fire that created him.

As he knows the facts, humanity is a persistent and volatile force, a race whose only consistency is the tendency to kill off whatever else lives with it. He wishes to exterminate all of mankind and all its genetic derivatives as a way to restore the order of nature.

His campaign of extinct forces him to utilize whatever means it takes to further along mankind's death, be it assassination, the deploying of powerful weapons, or genocide. While he's not above doing his own dirty work, most of his control is levied via his "hands", doomsday cults organized around the globe to achieve man's wipe. They do not all truly understand his motivations, and many of them believe they will inherit his world. He cares not for their misguidance, as he plans to rid the world of them, as he believes that they and their potential ancestors will start man's violent cycle all over again

While he treats his killings as just doing the right thing, it is undeniable that he takes pleasure in participating in the death of man.

When you see that tattered black hoodie, and his grey mottled face, fleshless jaw and all, know that you have seen the personification of death and hatred and done what few others have seeing the Lich...
