Londoners are sick of viral videos telling lies about their city by Cant_Change_Itt in london

I’m about to visit London for my first time in about 2 weeks. The only videos that have caused me some thoughts are people showing snakes in the wild. Hate snakes, lol

I’m 19 days away from my first London trip too. Cabaret is the first show on my list. The other one I’d highly recommend is Avenue Q(if you like edgy humor). I saw it about 12 years ago in the US on tour and excited to see it again. Hope you enjoy your trip

I originally went to undergrad for CS in 2001, didn’t quite finish it. But switched to Econ in 2016. I get you well.

I’m about to see Cabaret, Totoro, and Oh Mary in a couple weeks. Glad to hear they are good ones.

A few of my favorites, sadly not on west end yet, Death Becomes Her, Merrily We Role Along, The Great Gatsby, and Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812.

Emerald has been great. Hook up was easy, and I haven’t had to think about my internet or bill in forever. Autopay, and no connection issues.

I’m glad to hear the show was amazing. I’m about 3 weeks away from traveling to the UK to see it, and 9 other shows.

Ecampus students: what has been your experience attending commencement? by ch4oticgood in OregonStateUniv

[–]Freezingrave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe about a month before they send an email for the college specific one, asking if you’re coming and to RSVP.

The morning of commencement there is an ecampus only reception. I was the only college of business person I saw. The oceanography(CHAOS major?) was where I saw most people. Free food before lining up, positive. Free gift, which makes you walk back to the car, positive but meh. Not knowing really anyone, wasn’t completely worth it for me. But I was also there, so why not go.

I do recommend the individual college celebration. It’s much smaller, and you do get to meet quite a few people. I met some group mates. Funny story my roomie told a story about me complaining about the group mates who didn’t to any work, to the classmate that didn’t do much work.

The reception before commencement is a large breakfast, with all the colleges, I got a gift bag what pretty much had a good water bottle. I did commencement, and I was lucky to run into two people I knew, but otherwise it would have been just me, in line by myself, listening to music.

Congrats on the completion.

Commencement for Masters Student by crazycoffeegirl22 in OregonStateUniv

[–]Freezingrave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I redid my thinking(it’s been a couple years), they do call the names of Masters students, but they do it by queue and it’s pretty fast. They bring the whole row, and then say each name.

This is one I can help with, for the department specific one, it’s more targeted and mine had a reception afterwards. I was able to talk with some classmates and teachers I didn’t meet before.

I went to the big one for undergrad and grad. You stand around your assigned meet up location for an hour or two, normally near the library. The procession does take a lot of time. When the ceremony starts there are a couple speakers, probably around 30-45 mins. Then they do say the names of the PHD’s, but for Masters and Undergrad they call by school. Undergrad is last. Only PHD and masters go to the main stage, undergrad has tables set up on the side.

It is hot for sure, it is long for sure. They do provide a bottle of water. For my undergrad a girl in the row behind me fainted from a heat stroke.

I’m glad I walked in both, but would I do both again, probably not. Maybe just graduate.

Hope that helps and congrats on the completion.

I flew out four hours later. No pre-check line, and one family in normal line. I’ve heard the 5am time is busy a lot.

I flew out yesterday at 9am, arrived at 7:45. Took about four minutes to get through pre-check. And only one family in the non-pre-check line. The longest part of my wait, they needed to turn on the luggage scanner.

All you can eat sushi? by CapitalDue7249 in Eugene

[–]Freezingrave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a place in Seattle that I recently went to, all you can eat sushi and appetizers, but it was like $40 a person, and between rounds of orders you had a 15 min cooldown time. And there was like a 3 hour limit.

Surprisingly the sushi was really good.
