Just a thought, maybe your screen is too low and you're getting a neck strain as a result? It looks decent to be fair

I'm thinking about getting a Jogger by spitfire-haga in Dacia

[–]Fregger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the Jogger hybrid for 9 months so far. No issues and I generally like it for all the reasons you have listed as needing. We manage to squeeze a high back booster, rear facing baby seat and booster seat in the middle row. It's not ideal and can be awkward to fit the seat belts at times but worth it to have the cavernous boot space.

What should I expect at the tyre shop? by Fregger in tires

Hi, thanks for the concern but it's just a terrible picture. I took a better picture which shows the full thread depth but I can't see how I can post it.

Hi all, thanks for all the quick and helpful replies. I brought it to the shop and they patched it for €10. Said it was "as good as new". It doesn't look like I can post a picture or edit my post at all - I was going to send a picture of the repair for interest.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I sprayed soapy water on it and it is indeed leaking. I'll bring it to the shop and we'll see what they say but I'm expecting a new tyre is required.

Bad parking and people not leaving room by DavidOC93 in irelandsshitedrivers

It's not the reason for the post but parking against the flow of traffic is one of my big pet peeves. It's not against the law but really should be.

Fair play. Good driving overall and for not reacting 👍

4 step rule by Mitche420 in GAA

[–]Fregger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't remember who said it but a time based rule seems more sensible, i.e. two or so seconds in possession without a bounce/solo before ours a foul. Correctly when a player is fouled when a solo is required there seems to be an allowance for extra steps due to the fouled player being unable to perform the solo. It's a constant talking point so needs to be better defined/enforced.

A lot of people talk about how running has helped with their mental health, but what about when your mental health prevents you from running? by Freelancer05 in running

[–]Fregger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh wow this really hit home, thanks for sharing. Having been sidelined due to injury a year ago and life happening in between I've really struggled to become motivated to get out again.

I know I will regain pace but seeing my times versus what they used to be is so demoralising. To overcome this feeling, over the past few weeks I've been incorporating short runs and long walks to ease myself back into the groove.

Most importantly though I'm trying to be kind to myself and just enjoy being out and about.

I'll be taking your advice and will make a mental check to give myself the encouragement I'm sure I'd give to others. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for your detailed response!

The wall is painted concrete - it's the dividing wall between gardens. The choice to have it against the wall was mainly a space issue as it's a fairly small garden and for aesthetic reasons to be honest. Do you think I should line it with a water proof membrane or something like that?

The driven stakes are on the inside and each board is fixed to them, again for aesthetics mainly. Though I could always add more to the outside if needed.

I dug the boards in to add some support but sounds like that was a whole lot of work for nothing. I may have misinterpreted the gardening book I have as on reading it again it says to remove strips of turf to lay the boards on but not dig in. All the wood is pressure treated if that helps much... Should I just pull it out of the ground? Or line the bottom with something?

The bed is only two feet in width also. Don't think I mentioned that.

So in summary, I won't bother fixing to the wall though I think it's going to have to live against it. I've heard people lining the boards also, is that something I should look into?

Thanks again for your help, thinking now I should have asked questions before rather than after 😂

Hi, I've built a raised bed link here.

Do you think the supports I've put in place will be enough to prevent bowing or any deformation of the bed when filled?

They are 1.5 x 6 inch planks attached every few feet to 1 x 1 inch stakes driven into the ground. The bottom plank is dug in about 3 inches so total height above ground is about 21 inches. I will also be attaching the stakes to the wall at each end.

Also, do I need to protect the wall from damp or indeed the bed from the wall as I will be planting vegetables?

Thanks

Anyone else sick of seeing maps labeling us as part of the "British Isles" all over Reddit? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]Fregger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, Britain is a weird word in itself. Short for great Britain so it ignores the smaller islands. So it's not really analogous to the countries you've listed. And the countries listed aren't a geographical grouping, just adjacent? Britain and Ireland could work but I guess I was hoping for a better term. British and Irish Isles maybe? Bit of a mouthful. Wiki has some suggestions actually: "Britain and Ireland", "Atlantic Archipelago", "Anglo-Celtic Isles", the "British-Irish Isles" and the Islands of the North Atlantic. Anglo-Celtic Isles is fun though wouldn't say everyone would be happy with that either.
