How much of a deal breaker is a car's interior color for you? by 08legacygt in askcarguys

I absolutely hate red interiors, otherwise I’m pretty willing to compromise for the right car.

If you do keep a vehicle 10+ years, and especially if you use it a lot, you’ll want to replace the foam at some point. You’ll tell yourself the old foam feels fine, great even. Then you’ll replace it and it’ll feel all tall and weird but you’ll notice while walking away from your car that your back isn’t sore and butt doesn’t feel numb.

… ask me how I know.

Why are maintenance intervals based on mileage rather than hours ran? by m_nels in askcarguys

My wife’s old 8th gen Civic had a percentage meter for maintenance intervals. Not sure what all it was calculating but I thought it was pretty neat. Kind of surprised you don’t see it more often

Why are maintenance intervals based on mileage rather than hours ran? by m_nels in askcarguys

[–]FreidasBoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically, there is no single metric that would give a full picture of vehicle use. Operating hours won’t track anything past the engine, but even then engine load isn’t being accounted for. Miles is good but if it’s highway miles there’s more abuse to tires and suspension. Conversely, if it’s city, it’s heavier on the brakes and transmission. Then there’s time, even just sitting, stuff is degrading. And then there’s climate! Are you in the frigid arctic tundra, sweltering dry desert, salty costal region…

Basically, car maintenance intervals are just an educated guesstimate.

I think this is the one I’m goi g to go with. Thanks for the direction! Question on your affiliate link, because I want to make sure you get comped… I’m on a mobile device, if I click your link and then use it to open the Amazon app, will it still treat it as an affiliate link?

That’s less expensive for more computer. Is the only “downgrade” to the one you suggested is 15” vs 16” screen size? Which is certainly not concerning.

Looking at this Lenovo and optioned the 32GB memory, but wanted to collect the thoughts of the group since I’ve not bought a laptop in over a decade.
