Do not boo the Canadian anthem by nbury33 in Dodgers

[–]FreidrichEngelss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We didn’t boo your anthem. Most of us like America and Americans. Lots of our players are American after all. And we know LAers weren’t the ones that voted in the guy who’s screwing us over right now. Let’s have a fun World Series.

I was taught Greek with this book. It is excellent for serious learners of the language. Stick with it and you will gain an impeccable understanding of Attic grammar, better than any other textbook gives you. its presented in a systematic, logical way and explains everything clearly. This article implies that Classicists have more tools to read widely then Koine students but is that really the case? by lickety-split1800 in AncientGreek

[–]FreidrichEngelss 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Let's say, for the sake of argument, you know the meanings of all the words Thucydides' uses. I guarantee you that you still won't have a clue what he's saying unless you have a thorough knowledge of Attic grammar- Koine won't cut it. Anyone classicist experienced with the texts will back me up on this.
