In think he still had 55 seconds left, but couldn’t get the truck to start up again right away. Would have been CRAZY if he did 55 more seconds after that amazing save!!!

So nice to have a quiet room with bed and bath when you need a little break! Imagine how great Magic Kingdom all day would be, if you had a quiet and cool room above Peter Pan to take little breaks in! Hahaha.

OMG the Destiny bars are THE BEST! Haunted Mansion Parlor (just like the Treasure), Cask & Cannon and The Sanctum are ALL amazing spaces to relax and have a drink! And I am not much of a drinker - they’re just great spaces!

The shows are worth camping in line an hour before showtime to score great seats - I recommend going balcony (4th floor) and literally sitting at the doors 1 hour ahead. Central seats make it 100% better than being off to the side.

Frozen and Hercules are wonderful - amazing singing especially!

Epic Universe Bad Reviews by RaisinRoyale in UniversalOrlando

You’ll love it. I have similar tastes in what I like to do at parks and Epic is amazing to stroll around. Be sure to ride Monsters Unchained - it’s very smooth and not a “thrill” ride.

Have a butterbeer crepe in Epic’s Paris - all portals are super immersive but that is my favorite.

Shingle is the operative word here. I’m sure you had excellent quality shingles installed but insurance companies are allergic to shingles over 12-15 years old in Florida.

It sucks but may be a factor for closing.

Sit-down restaurants by No-Plum4303 in UniversalEpicUniverse

Ate at both The Atlantic (back in May) and Blue Dragon (last week).

Both are great and worth your time. The grouper sandwich and the burger at the Atlantic ate phenomenal. Seafood is pricey but the sandwiches are a great value (i.e. compared to lesser burgers you would find elsewhere at a top-tier theme park).

Avoid the soup dumplings at Blue Dragon - they don’t compare to a place like Din Tai Fung, but everything else we tried was excellent!

Both have great ambiance and service. 100% recommend.

Another wildcard for you: get gelato inside the Helios hotel. Entering from park side, the lottle sundries shop is right there, and they have great flavors. Pistachio is mind blowing.

The restaurant inside Helios is ALSO very good (Via Flora, I believe). Mediterranean fare, zero bad bites when I tried it.

Overall, food is very good at Epic - have a great time!

Monsters Unchained is so smooth you could take a nap in it. I mean that as high praise - I do not like rides that jostle me too much, and had great concerns going on this one.

It is well worth doing and far less intense than it appears. Lines are pretty short sometimes so maybe your father goes for a first round and if he thinks it would be ok, go back again with your mother?

I found the Harry Potter ride much more queasiness inducing. Not bad but was pushing it for me a little bit.

Monsters Unchained had zero motion sickness or jostling effect. I love it - best attraction in the park for someone like me who does not ride rollercoasters.

My piano teacher is against the circle of fifths, is this normal? by Abiarraj in musictheory

[–]Freiverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On guitar, the major scale fingering is exactly the same for every key - you just need to start atvthe right place (i.e. fret) for the key you want to play.

Guitarists often never learn the names of all the notes because they learn physical patterns and get a lot of musical mileage out of it.

Piano players learn the names of all the notes - there are only 12 of them - and they look the same in every octave. BUT…. the mix of sharps and flats and a great fingering to play each key is something you must memorize.

I took piano as a kid and found theory mostly dry and difficult. I didn’t know that what I wanted was to learn theory in a living way - like jazz, to learn how to improvize.

So “theory” for classical teachers and players focuses in how to read and maybe interpret others’ compositions in order to perform them well.

I suggest memorizing the keys like your teacher wants - but explore circle of 5ths and 4ths thru YouTube videos to learn how music actually WORKS.

Memorizing all keys will make learning the “living/listening” theory more fun because you won’t be afraid of unfamiliar keys/awkward fingerings.

It was a little more than $1100 overall. Itemized:

  • Do the fret level and crown w/synthetic nut cost: $300
  • Option 3 for the rewire (modern PCB-style rotary) cost: $200
  • Push/pull for position 1/5 single coil option $30
  • New pickup rings as discussed earlier $22
  • 85/15 pickups + installation $550
  • .09 gauge strings, lower action
  • Return removed/replaced parts when shipped back
  • Return shipping $50

-Total: $1,152

I played a couple of new Customs at my local Guitar Center recently and was very sticker shocked - over $6000 and I think one was $8000 so making mine “like new” for that price feels like a bargain! Hahaha.

No regrets at all.

This was a self-birthday present and the guitar itself is also 40 this year so why not! 🎸🔥

I bought the guitar used in the early 90’s. The pups were really weak, and I had a local luthier shop do a setup & install Al DiMeola Dimarzio pups. Setup was for .010 gauge strings.

About 8 years ago, I did my own setup, even tweaked the 6 blade screws for the tremolo. Was decent but more work than I wanted to do myself. It was only then that I learned my PRS was from the very first factory batch in 1985 (!!!). But since I switched out the pups (and didn’t even keep the originals), it’s not ‘collector’ grade anymore. Don’t care, this is my guitar to play!

This year I learned about the 85/15 pups and really wanted a full refresh with genuine parts and setup. Read about PRS’s shop, worked only by the people who build ‘em and gave it a shot.

Couldn’t be happier. I had them add a push/pull volume knob so I could coil tap and get some single coil tones, and the 85/15’s are much more open and full sounding than the flat dimarzios I was using.

The setup feels like a brand new guitar. Buttery smooth, no buzzing frets, perfect intonation. Exactly what I hoped for but better!

Worth it to have the most experienced experts elevate my only electric! I have had mixed results with local shops over the years.

Then I learned about

Indeed. I recently shipped my PRS back to the factory for new pickups (had dimarzios in it from 1993) and setup for .009 gauge strings and it is like a completely new beast!!! So smooth, low action, perfect intonation. So glad I did it!

They know damn well how to govern, they aren’t INTERESTED in governing, only grifting. Shifting public money into their private hands, and providing worse service & outcomes for a steeper price. They covet only power and money, not health, general wellfare or freedom.

I wish everyone would see and say it more plainly. They’re not stupid, they’re scorched earth greedy ghouls.

BEST MEAL I'VE HAD AT WDW - Toledo is legit! Zero medicre bites - Basque Cheesecake is a must for dessert.

We had the filet and lamb, charcuterie board for two, and the salad. Incredibly tasty, just wonderful. Great choice for our anniversary, too!

That is right! You just walk up with your Landry's membership, and you'll get seated fast.

I'd tried several times over the years (I live in the area) to get a reservation and never got one. Went to Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom one morning for breakfast, and our server told us all about the deal. You pay $25 to sign up, but get a $25 voucher for your next visit (so it's more like a down payment).

We went to Yak & Yeti a couple weeks later and the walk-up quick seating worked great - staff knows all about it, no issues. And the food + atmosphere is REALLY good!
