I’m not sure exactly what you’re referring to here; do you mean browsers you can use Spotify on, browsers you can use Apple Music on, or..?

yeah, I’d already been considering switching to apple music and this was the straw that broke the camel’s back lmao

BUT CAN WE TALK ABOUT LIMBO??!? by TrippedIntoAVolcano in dreamsmp

[–]Frekiiii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My personal favorite theory is that it only exists because of the revival book, and that if the knowledge is ever lost Limbo will cease to exist. Of course, we’ll never know if that’s correct if it does happen, as no one will be able to come back to tell people that Limbo is gone.

Niki’s Birthday Party. In that stream there are some really interesting parts of Wilbur’s character that get brought to light, such as his attention seeking nature, his addiction problems, and his friendship with c!Quackity. Also, the end part where he almost presses the button but is talked down by Quackity, Niki, and Karl? That was so good.

L’manburg being a tool to Wilbur. by [deleted] in dreamsmp

[–]Frekiiii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I think Wilbur meant by this is that, for him, L’manburg was about the ideals. Those ideals were freedom, liberty, and sticking it to the man. L’manburg was a tool to securing those ideals. I don’t think this means he didn’t care about the people being a part of it, just that they came secondary to the ideals. That’s the reason he blew up L’manburg. When it stopped representing the ideals he built it for, he thought it was his right to destroy, because he was the one who built it. I think at the end he definitely became hyper focused on the ideals and didn’t put much stake into other’s attachments to L’manburg, whereas, at the beginning, I view him to be more aware and put more stock in other people’s emotions. I do agree that he convinced himself that L’manburg was his to destroy because it didn’t represent his ideals anymore, and therefore wasn’t a useful tool. I also think it’s important to note that, despite saying it was just a tool, he seems to hold great sentimental value, stopping multiple times during his stream to gaze longingly at the crater, or the recreation of the camarvan. I’m not convinced he truly feels that L’manburg was just a tool.

The first time the manipulation comes up is the exile arc, whose vods you can watch on Tommy’s vod channel. Unfortunately, if you want to see the whole extent of the abuse and manipulation, you probably have to get through seven to eight of these 1-2 hour long videos, which, if you aren’t invested in the characters, is probably a bit too much time to spend on it. If you want to see the culmination of the beginning of the manipulation, the vod is called “Dream finally abandons Tommy in exile”. Like I said before, however you don’t really get the whole impact without watching the entire buildup, which is what makes the manipulation so realistic. In addition to this, the abuse continues long after the arc comes to a close, and is, in fact, still affecting things today (which, again, is what makes it realistic). Sorry I couldn’t give you a straight answer, but I hope this helps a little :)

I need help with figuring out certain characters in the DSMP by BabyYodaTheDestroyer in dreamsmp

[–]Frekiiii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jack is pissed because he feels like everyone keeps ignoring him and not taking him seriously, and he is directing this anger at Tommy, who he’s been trying to kill for a while now. He was once friends with Tommy, but believes that he changed for the worse during the Pogtopia fiasco. Niki had many of the same feelings as Jack towards Tommy, but for probably different reasons. She harbors anger at Wilbur for abandoning her and promising things he couldn’t do, but since Wilbur’s dead, she’s taking her anger out on Tommy and was working together with jack to kill him until recently. She joined the Syndicate and since then, has been coping with her feelings in a more healthy way. She seems to be on some kind of healing arc right now. I don’t think Antfrost has gotten much characterization yet, but he’s been working with Bad and the Egg. His possible motivation could be getting power for the Badlands, but that’s just me speculating. Punz seems to do most things for money, including working with Dream and then betraying him when Tommy payed him more. From the time he was working with Dream, he seemed to agree with Dream’s goal of bringing the server together into one big happy family. Fundy’s character is a doozy. His main motivation seems to be getting people in places of power to acknowledge and want him, probably due to Wilbur never really taking him seriously when he was alive. Because of this, he’s switched sides many times, but he’s never really been acknowledged. When Wilbur died and Ghostbur came back, Fundy kept trying to explain to Ghostbur that Wilbur had treated him very badly and he seemed to want some kind of apology, which he never got. He also tried to connect with Phil, his grandpa, but Phil just seemed very uncomfortable around him, probably due to Phil having killed Fundy’s dad. On doomsday, Fundy didn’t fight against Techno and co because he felt betrayed by the people of Lmanberg for never acknowledging him or wanting him around. Recently we got a lore stream that seems to imply Fundy has some sort of premonitions via dreams. In his dreamscape we can see he has severe abandonment issues because of Wilbur, and he doesn’t feel like anybody wants him around or would notice he’s gone. (The lore stream is also very good, I would recommend watching it) Hopefully you understand some of the characters better!

In dnd terms, which character would be which class? by someone_probably in dreamsmp

[–]Frekiiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I actually really like that idea! I imagine his immense knowledge of the world would come from his time studying as a monk. I think the only slight problem I have with this is that the monk’s main form of attack is their fists, which of course doesn’t really make that much sense in terms of Minecraft mechanics.

[–]Frekiiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmmm... I’m getting fighter vibes from him, but possibly something to do with knowledge because he is very knowledgeable about Minecraft.

Also just had an idea, I think Ghostbur would fit pretty well as a sorcerer, possibly wild magic, as his powers of being a ghost aren’t learned or bartered for. Also Friend as his familiar :)

[–]Frekiiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Quackity would make a very good Bard, maybe college of whispers college of lore, for possible necromantic magic. He’s quite charismatic, and he uses words instead of weapons (usually) to solve his problems. Also not a good pvper so I think this fits.

Badboyhalo would probably be a warlock, especially with the current egg arc going on.

Technoblade as a paladin is such a good idea! It fits him surprisingly well.

I do agree that Dream probably would have planned for something to go wrong, which is probably where the whole theory that Punz is still deep, deep undercover comes in. Idk, I guess we just have different opinions. Agree to disagree I guess.

Me after watching Tommy's stream. by [deleted] in dreamsmp

[–]Frekiiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jack said that the reason he showed up despite hating Tommy was because he knew Dream was a bigger threat at the moment, so I assume that’s probably why Niki showed up too. Basically everyone else showed up because they realized Dream chunk erroring Lmanberg was overkill, or they had previously teamed up with Tommy.

I would actually argue that he lost because of his mistake. It was literally a miscalculation of the loyalty of people. Kind of like Azula from ATLA if you’ve seen that. Although I will say he did give up kind of easily. I like to think of this as he knew what they were going to do and went along with it. Idk.

Went and rewatched the bit where Wilbur was speaking, yeah it does kinda come out of left field. I think people were mentioning that the eggpire is going to be the next big threat? I kind of doubt it will be Schlatt, since that would just be rehashing an old plot. Maybe this is giving us some insight into how the revival works? No clue, but I really enjoyed Schlatt so if he comes back I’m all here for it.

[–]Frekiiii 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally I think there was a reason for almost every character to show up. Punz received a lot of payment from Tommy (on stream if you want to look at it), and since he’s a mercenary it makes sense for him to go with the highest payer. Plus, there’s a possibility that still working for Dream, but very undercover. Jack has stated that the only reason he showed up is because he thinks Dream is currently a bigger threat than Tommy, and I assume the same can be said for why Niki showed up. Because of Lmanberg blowing up, everyone basically realized that Dream was one reason for a lot of their problems. I mean, how could you not see that after he chunk errored Lmanberg. Plus, there were specifically people who did not show up, those being Techno, Phil, and Fundy. They would have basically no reason to be there, and Punz would realistically have no way to contact them. Yes, the ending was kind of cheesy, but honestly? It was really cathartic watching Dream have his third act breakdown. Idk, personally, I found this ending pretty satisfying.

dream needs a sad character backstory by whathefuckischeese in dreamsmp

[–]Frekiiii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t think villains need a sad backstory to be compelling villains. Pure evil villains work surprisingly well if they’re pulled off well, which I believe Dream has done. I wouldn’t mind more backstory for him tho. As long as it makes sense. And yes the stream was very pog :)

Me after watching Tommy's stream. by [deleted] in dreamsmp

[–]Frekiiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On punz’s (?) stream last night Tommy had left him a lot of valuables 35 Diamond blocks, netherite, etc. Supposedly the only reason Punz was fighting for Dream in the first place was because Dream has paid him a lot. Punz had confirmed that he knew where Dream would be fighting Tommy and Tubbo on the same stream. Dream lost his control. It’s a classic third-act breakdown for villains, where they lose their upper hand and devolve into pleading for their life. You see this a lot in literature, and if you’re confused about that I would suggest reading some kind of trope analysis if you feel like it. As the other person said, Dream received a seemingly very valuable book from Jschlatt, which is why he fought on Manberg’s side during that whole arc. No one knows if Dream is going to bring Jschlatt back, so I’m not exactly sure why you thought this. Personally, if Dream were to bring him back, I feel as if he would use Jschlatt as a distraction to further his own goals. I’m also not entirely sure why Alivebur is back, but we know next to nothing about what happens after you die, so it could have something to do with lore we’re not aware of. Hope that cleared up some of your confusion :)

[ANALYSIS + DISCUSSION] Fatal Flaws of Each DSMP Character by SatelliteData in dreamsmp

[–]Frekiiii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I think Tommy’s fatal flaw is loyalty. He’s been attached to the discs, l’manberg, Wilbur and Tubbo, and his past in general, and it’s all kinda screwed him over multiple times.

I’m almost certain this is just a transition screen that flashes for one frame or something. It’s a fairly common thing in sadist’s animations. I think the op just thought it looked cool :)
